Overview
Chandra Secondary School, Siraha (चन्द्र माध्यमिक विद्यालय, सिराहा) was established in 1914 AD (1971 BS) as a community based educational institution, which is situated in Siraha-1, Siraha, Nepal. It is affiliated to the National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers educational programs from ECD to Grade 10 and plus two under Management, Science, and Education streams.
Chandra Secondary School Siraha provides up to secondary level education with moderate fee structures and also provides a scholarship scheme for the deserving students. It was one of the first open schools outside the valley during the reign of Chandra Shamsher and was established in 1971 BS as the first historical English school outside the valley. The school was run as a secondary school in the year 2008 BS with the help and efforts of the locals and the income of the land received as donations. With the help and efforts of the late Mitra Lal Giri (father of former MP Pradip Giri). Three years later, he got the opportunity to sit for the entrance exam in 2010 BS. Two of the students who took the exam passed in the second class.
