The WWF-GEF project, Integrated Landscape Management to Secure Nepal's Protected Areas and Critical Corridors (ILam) Project is executed by the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MOFE), Government of Nepal. The project's geographic scope is the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL), Nepal. The project aims to promote integrated landscape management and provides support in building the ecological integrity of large, forested areas, globally significant wildlife populations, and the resilience of forest-dwelling communities.
1. FIELD MONITORING EVALUATION & LEARNING OFFICER- ILaM Project
Major Responsibilities:
The Field Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer is responsible to lead in tracking results using the project's results framework and ensuring the database generation, authentication, and management. S/he provides technical support to project managers and field managers in adaptive management practices. This position is based in the field and requires substantial travel to remote project sites.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Natural Resource Management, Environment Management, or related field with at least 3 years of field experience in the implementation and management of which at least 2 years must be in natural resource management projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in independently handling M&E work of projects of over USD 1 million per year and other GEF projects. The candidate should be technically proficient and qualified in the field of monitoring and evaluation. Updated knowledge with working experience in the Geo-spatial environment (GIS) is desirable.
2. FIELD PROGRAM OFFICER - ILaM Project
Major Responsibilities:
The Field Program Officer is responsible for liaison with Park authorities, Buffer zone management council and user committees and Division Forest Offices. S/he provides technical guidance to sub-grantees and monitors effectiveness and efficiencies during field implementation. This position is based in the field and requires substantial travel to remote project sites.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Conservation Biology, Environment Science, Forestry, or other related fields with at least 3 years of experience in-country in integrated landscape conservation, community forestry, and/or natural resource management.
- Sound knowledge of biodiversity conservation, governance in the NRM sector, gender and social inclusion, livelihood, conservation policies, and current development issues in Nepal is desired.
- S/he should have experience in capacity building, planning, communication and monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in working with field-based conservation and development initiatives, and diverse community groups in various altitudinal gradients in the country and government agencies is a must.
