World Vision Vacancy for Policy and Advocacy Specialist and Sponsorship Correspondence Assistant:

We are looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following positions:
1) Policy and Advocacy Specialist (One) - based in Lalitpur, National Office (Fixed Term until Sep 2021)
Key Responsibilities:
- The purpose of this position is to work in the Policy and Communication Department under the close supervision and reporting of the Advocacy and Campaign Manager, whilst supporting and leverage advocacy work of World Vision International Nepal.
- This position will be responsible to support to enhance reputation and influence and contribute to public-community connections and staff engagement for World Vision International Nepal.
- More specifically the position will work to support generating evidences from WVI Nepal's programs to leverage local to national advocacy initiatives to contribute to achieving the goal set by Country Strategy 2021 — 2025.
- The person will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of the "It takes Nepal to end child marriage campaign" at the National level and support the field in achieving the indicators under this project.
- S/he will also be responsible to involve in the capacity strengthening of National Office and Field Offices staff in establishing and leading coalitions and networks, and identifying innovative approaches in the development of key messages and strategies, which target the gaps of policy implementation in Nepal.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies required:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree (preferred Masters) in Social Science or the relevant field. Must have 4-5 years of experience in advocacy with strong research skills.
- Should have strong interpersonal skills —ability to draw commitment from other parts of the organization.
- Good understanding of different approaches to policy advocacy and the requirements involved. Must have knowledge of developing policy brief and position papers.
- Should have knowledge on Project Management, planning cycle added advantage.
- Must be fluent in Nepali with good written and spoken English and have knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- The position requires 40% travel in World Vision International Nepal's working areas.
2) Sponsorship Correspondence Assistant (One)- based in Lalitpur, National Office
Key Responsibilities:
- The Sponsorship Correspondence Assistant will handle and manage all incoming and outgoing correspondences for all support offices and APs in compliance with World Vision's Global Standards and technical requirements.
- This position would focus on smooth management of all sponsorship correspondence that will enable WVIN to maintain timely and quality communication with sponsors and children.
- This is an office-based position however will involve frequent visits to the districts and communities for monitoring and capacity building of Partner Non-Government Organization's Office staffs.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies required:
- 10+2 passed (Higher Secondary) or Bachelors running in any discipline from a recognized university with at least I year of experience in a child-focused organization (preferred).
- Good understanding of development concepts; skills in English to Nepali and Nepali to English Translation; ability to articulate and implement standards and procedures is preferred; good time management and organizing skills.
- Should have training and facilitation skills; must have report writing skills, networking, and influencing skills. In-depth understanding of Sponsorship standards and processes; skills on the web-based database is preferred;
- Excellent oral and written English & Nepali; skills in Nepali and English typing.
- Should have demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently.
- This position requires 20% travel in World Vision International Nepal's working areas.
