World Vision International Nepal Job Vacancy for GESI and DRR:

We are looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following positions:
1. Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist (One) - based in Lalitpur, National Office
Key Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical guidance and coordinate across World Vision International Nepal's strategy, programming, policy, grant acquisition, and programme implementation to foster its strategies, organizational policy, and programme to effectively integrate gender equality and social inclusion.
The incumbent is also responsible to produce the periodical analytical metrics in its theme and conducting assessment across the organizational functions for the strong positioning and providing strategic advice to the leadership team and operation team for better integration and implementation of the programme.
S/he will be responsible to support the field team in the implementation of the specific grants to integrate the GESI part and follow up with the team to ensure the GESI is addressed across all the programmes.
Additionally, the incumbent works collaboratively across departments to identify blockages, problem-solving, develop and deliver practical plans to ensure the organisation reaches the most vulnerable and excluded groups as the priority beneficiaries across all of its programs.
To achieve this, the role conducts capacity building and training for WVIN and Partner NGO staff. The role is also responsible for leading on new project designs related to GESI, ensuring all new WV projects target the most vulnerable, and integration of GESI appropriately.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies required:
Master's Degree in Sociology, Gender, Women Development or in related field with at least 5 years of field experience in managing GESI programming in the field or headquarters of an INGO, (7 years of experiences in the same field if the incumbent from NGO- preferred).
Should have sound knowledge on the subject and gaps in Nepali context and should be able to persuade people who are excluding the subject intentionally.
Experience in developing winning grant technical project proposals is preferred. Experience in partnering with private businesses or academic institutions to achieve a greater impact on the lives of children. Should have experience of engaging with international donors and Government staff on GESI advocacy. Good media relations and advocacy skills.
Experience in quality monitoring. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Nepali and have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interpersonal, networking, coordination, and organizational skills. This position requires 40% extensive travel to the field to observe the progress of integration, coordination with the stakeholders, and to facilitate or train the programme team and Partner NGO team.
2. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Humanitarian Specialist - (One)- Based in Lalitpur, National Office
Key Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership across all WVIN's Disaster Risk Reduction programming, and to lead the implementation of WVIN's Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project across all workingWVIN Districts, and ensure WVIN's annual KPIs and targets related to DRR are achieved.
The objective of the DRR project is to facilitate the development and effective implementation of local disaster risk management plans to promote community-based disaster management initiatives aiming to increase the resilience of children, communities, as well as local government officials to be better prepared for and able to respond to natural hazards.
The role will proactively lead to establishing and implementing capacity building plans to ensure WVIN's Field and PNGO staff have the necessary skills and tools to implement the DRR project and to ensure the organizational capacity to respond to the local level disaster. Similarly, the role is responsible for developing all tools, templates, protocols and resources necessary for VIN's Field staff and NGOs to effectively implement the DRR project, mainstream DRR into sector programs, and achieve the organization's DRR KPIs.
The role is also responsible for contributing to project design and resource acquisition to expand WVIN's DRR work. The DRR and Humanitarian Specialist position will also manage relationships with external DRR partners/networks and works in close coordination with the government and stakeholders and WVIN field offices.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies required:
Bachelor's Degree in Disaster Management or any DRR related discipline (preferred Masters) with at least 5 years (for those with Master degree) of field experience in managing DRR related projects or programming in the field or headquarters of a major NGO, INGO, or government department. Familiarity with development theory, community-based disaster management, DRM frameworks;
Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment. Strong experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building, and organizational development for staff and communities.
Experience in the preparation of teaching material and tools. Understanding and experience in working with children and communities in Nepal. Competent in the use of MS Office, social media, and web platforms.
High level of practical knowledge on local disaster risk management planning process. Practical knowledge in Community Based Disaster Risk Management. Good media relations and advocacy skills.
Strong interpersonal, networking, coordination, and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Nepali. Good presentation and communication skills.
Extensive travel to the field is expected on a monthly basis to observe the progress of the project activities, coordinate with the stakeholders, and facilitate the project team for effective implementation of the project activities
