United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organization which aims to enable the poorest people living in poverty to transform their lives, leadingtowards the fullness of life. As we serve the people of Nepal, multinational teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organisations in partnership through six field offices (Clusters) in Bajhang, Doti, Rukum-East, Mugu, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi of the country.
Position: Cluster Team Leaders - 6 (based in Bajhang-1, Doti-1, Rukum-East-1, Mugu-1, Kapilbastu-1 and Nawalparasi-1)
This is a key position in UMN, based in a specified geographical location with frequent travel.
The main objective of the post is overall leadership and management, coordination and
facilitation of a multi-disciplinary work in U M N's duster through its local partner organisations
for the effective outworking of UM N's Vision, Mission, Values and strategic plan.
Qualification and experience:
- Master's Degree preferred, at least Bachelor's Degree required in any field from a recognised university;
- Minimum of five years' leadership experience in community development;
- A values-driven leader, with experience in mentoring others to live by those values;
- Passion and vision for helping the poorest/most excluded people in a geographic area to escape from poverty;
- people management and team building experience;
- Passion for developing others reflected in the experience of fostering participation and partnership;
- A leader with good interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people & stakeholders;
- Strong experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and developing proposals including participatory whole-community assessment;
- Familiar with up-to-date poverty eradication strategies, policies and development practices in Nepal and outside;
- Experience in strategy development preferred;
- Cross-cultural work experience preferred;
- Good computer skills including MS-Office Package;
- Excellent language and communication skills in both Nepali and English.
