USAID's Strengthening Systems for Better Health (SSBH) Project Vacancy for Various Positions:

USAID's Strengthening Systems for Better Health (SSBH) Activity is a 5-year project aimed at improving health outcomes in Nepal, particularly for the most marginalized and disadvantaged groups in the country. This will be accomplished through supporting the Government of Nepal's efforts to expand access to and use of quality maternal, newborn, and child health and family planning (MNCH/FP) services, with a specific focus on newborn care. SSBH was initiated in January 2018 and will achieve three outcomes:

  • Improving access to and utilization of equitable healthcare services,
  • Improving the quality of health services at facility and community levels and
  • Improving health system governance, within the context of decentralization and federalism.

Strengthening Systems for Better Health is implemented in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration at the federal level, provincial and municipal government, facility and community level health service provider, and other key stakeholders. The project is implemented throughout Karnali Province and in targeted areas of Lumbini Province.

SSBH is recruiting new team members to plan, manage and deliver technical and material support for the Government of Nepal's (GoN) response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Activity is seeking applications from qualified professionals for the positions listed below.

1. Admin and Finance Assistant (1)

Location: Surkhet, Karnali Province

Key Qualification :

Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Management, Business, at least two years of relevant professional experience in office administration and financial management.

2. Emergency Medical Response Specialist (1)

Location: Surkhet

Key Qualification :

Master's degree in Medicine (e.g. General Practice, Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Community Medicine), Minimum six years of experience in the clinical management of respiratory disease, health emergency response, and/or physician training.

3. Field Medical Officers (8)

Location: Lumbini and Karnali Province

Key Qualification :

Bachelor's degree in medicine (MBBS) with registration in a relevant professional council; minimum one year of professional experience, at least six years of experience in designing, managing, monitoring, & evaluating health programs, including responses to health emergencies.
