USAID's Strengthening Systems for Better Health (SSBH) Job Vacancy for Various Positions:

USAID's Strengthening Systems for Better Health (SSBH) Activity is a 5-year project aimed at improving health outcomes in Nepal, particularly for the most marginalized and disadvantaged groups in the country. This will be accomplished through supporting the Government of Nepal's efforts to expand access to and use of quality maternal, newborn, and child health and family planning (MNCH/FP) services, with a specific focus on newborn care. SSBH was initiated in January 2018 and will achieve three outcomes:

  • Improving access to and utilization of equitable healthcare services,
  • Improving the quality of health services at facility and community levels and
  • Improving health system governance, within the context of decentralization and federalism.

It is implemented in close collaboration with government counterparts at federal, provincial & municipal levels, as well as health service providers and managers, and other key stakeholders.

Geographic coverage includes all 79 municipalities of Karnali Province and 6 districts of Lumbini Province.

The Activity is seeking applications from qualified professionals for the positions listed below.

1. Health Systems Strengthening Specialist (1)

Location: Surkhet, Karnali Province

Key Qualification:

Master's Degree (minimum), in Public Health, Health Administration/Management, Health Economics or other relevant fields with more than 6 years of relevant professional experience, focused on health systems strengthening; demonstrated knowledge of Nepal's health system and federal structures.

2. Maternal Newborn Child Health and Family Planning (MNCH FP) Specialist (1)

Location: Kathmandu

Key Qualification:

Master's degree in Nursing or Medicine or Public Health with Clinical experience focusing on maternal, newborn, and child health sector with a minimum of 7 (5 years for GSI* group) years of experience in related roles and responsibilities.

3. Senior Technical Officer — MNCH (1)

Location: Butwal

Key Qualification :

Master's degree in Nursing or Public Health with Clinical background (i.e., MBBS, BN, BSc Nursing) with at least 5 (3 years for GSI* group) years of related professional experience with technical knowledge and understanding and experience of maternal, newborn, child health, family planning, and program planning and delivery.

4. Technical Officer - Maternal Neonatal Child Health Family Planning (MNCH FP) 12

Location: Any District of Karnali Province and Lumbini Province

Key Qualification :

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Public Health with Clinical background (i.e., BN, BSc Nursing) with at least 5 (3 years for GSI* group) years of related professional experience with technical knowledge and understanding and experience of maternal, newborn, child health, family planning, and program planning and delivery.

*Senior Technical Officer-MNCH &Technical Officer MNCH FP -Re-advertised, those who had applied earlier for these positions need not apply again.

*GSI group include Females, Dalit, Madhesi, people living with disabilities & other indigenous/minorities.
