USAID Nepal Funded KISAN II Project Job Vacancy

The USAID/Nepal-funded KISAN II project is improving food security in twenty-one Hill and Terai districts in the Western, Mid-Western and Far-Western regions and four districts in the Central region of the country. The purpose of the project is to increase resilience, inclusiveness, and sustainability of income growth in the Feed the Future Zone of Influence. We are looking for qualified and competent candidates to join our KISAN II team in the following position.

Position: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor (D1) - 1

Location: Kathmandu

Role Profile:

GESI Advisor will take a lead role for implementing KISAN II GESI plan under the supervision of Chief of Party. S/he will be responsible for overseeing the integration of gender equality and social inclusion in all project activities. S/he closely works with the Collaboration, Learning and Adaptation team to design and implement GESI-related learning activities and assesses impacts on women and other socially excluded/vulnerable groups. This position ensures on capacity building of project staff, partners and grantees on GESI-sensitive programming and implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education: Preferably Master's degree in a relevant field such as Gender, Development or related field;

Experience:

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in designing GESI sensitive activities for development projects. USAID experience is strongly preferred.
  • At least two to four years of experience working on GESI issues in agriculture.
  • Familiarity with USAID gender policy.
  • Strong computer software skills in MS Excel, Word
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written with fluency in both English and Nepali.
