United States Peace Corps Vacancy for Environment Program Specialist (EnPS)

The United States Peace Corps seeks an Environment Program Specialist (EnPS) to serve as a personal services contractor based in Kathmandu.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 1 (One)

  • Bachelor's Degree in forestry, environmental or related field.
  • Minimum of four years of work experience in the environment, forestry, or related field
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Nepali and English.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working alongside village community members on locally prioritized projects in Nepal.
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following skills: environmental education, solid waste management, community forestry, alternative energy, improved cookstoves.
  • Knowledgeable about community/participatory assessment tools, designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation of community projects.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Experience of working and/or interacting with government officials at the provincial and local levels.
  • Experience working with an international organization and/or with foreigners.
  • Experience working with or supporting volunteers.
