United Mission to Nepal (UMN) Job Vacancy for Project Manager:

1. Position: Project Manager - Livelihoods (Woman only)

No. of position: 1

Location: Bajhang

The main purpose of this position is to take overall management of the "SRI JANA- Youth Employability" livelihoods project and to contribute to the implementation of UMN's Cluster strategy, technical backstopping in Livelihoods and Economic Development related issues, relationship-building and new concept development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Agriculture Science or Development Studies or relevant discipline with minimum of two years of working experience OR Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science or Development Studies or relevant discipline with five years of working experience in 'Livelihoods' promotion and Economic Development;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of current livelihoods issues in Nepal;
  • Experience in networking, advocacy, and partnership working with the community, local government, service providers, and financial institutions is strongly desirable;
  • Strong experience in project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and developing proposals;
  • Experience in project assessment, design, implementation, and monitoring processes;
  • Familiar with up-to-date poverty eradication strategies, policies, and development practices in Nepal and outside;
  • Cross-cultural work experience preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills both in Nepali and English. Written English must be of an excellent standard.
