SOS Children's Villages Nepal Vacancy for Counselor and Program Officer:

SOS Children's Villages Nepal invites application from result-oriented and highly motivated Nepalese citizens for the following positions in various program locations. We offer a secure and friendly work environment; and are committed to safeguarding the rights of the children.

Job Positions:

1. Counselor (1): SOS Youth Care Kathmandu (Girls)

The Counselor will be responsible for supporting the social, moral, emotional, and intellectual development of children and young people and guiding them by assessing the special educational requirements of an individual child and youth. S/he should have a good understanding of professional counseling approaches and strong skills in organizing and facilitating training/workshops. S/he should manage documents, maintain the database, and prepare the activity for children and young people, and reporting the events.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

Minimum Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Bachelors Degree in any discipline with one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counseling and three years relevant work experience or, Masters Degree in Psychology or Masters Degree in any discipline with one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counseling and one-year relevant work experience. (Preference will be given to candidates having a two-wheeler license).

2. Program Officer (1) Contract basis:  SOS Community Based Family Strengthening Programme Vyas

Program Officer will be responsible for capacity building of programme implementation partners (community-based organisations or structures. self-help groups, local NGOs, or local authorities) to ensure the long-term sustainability of service delivery and ongoing development of the programme unit in the future. S/he will prepare family development plans of target families with the strong participation of caregivers and children. S/he should arrange, provide and coordinate the delivery of services to children and families in strong partnership with other service providers and in line with the family development plan.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Social Science with three years' field/ relevant work experience or Masters Degree in Social Science with one-year field/ relevant work experience. Experience in working with a community-based organization and local bodies (District Coordination Committee and Municipality) will be an added advantage. (Preference will be given to candidates having two wheeler-driving licenses)

Working location: Vyas Municipality, Tanahu

For both the above-mentioned positions, candidates should have a good command of English and Nepali languages (both written and speaking). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package, email, and the internet is a must. Experience of working with children and young people will be an added advantage. Candidates are expected to have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
