Chairman Position Open at Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON)
The Government of Nepal is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to lead the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) as its Chairman. This prestigious position has become available following the conclusion of Ramesh Kumar Hamal's tenure. The National Planning Commission has established a recommendation committee, led by Dr. Meen Bahadur Shrestha, to oversee the application and selection process.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates aspiring to become the Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) must meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a Master's degree or higher from a recognized university.
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in sectors such as securities market management, capital market development, economics, finance, commercial activities, management, or law.
- Be a Nepalese citizen with a high moral standing.
- Age between 30 and 65 years, with a clear record free from convictions in corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, drug dealing, crimes against antiquities or protected wildlife, or any other criminal activities indicating moral turpitude.
- Not be on any blacklists or have been removed from such lists within the past 3 years.
- Not hold permanent residency in a foreign country and be of sound mental health.
Selection Process
The selection process for the Chairman will include the evaluation of:
- A professional action plan (40 points).
- Educational qualifications (12 points).
- Presentation of the professional action plan (18 points).
- Personal interview (30 points).
Application Procedure
Interested candidates must:
- Submit a confidential application to the Financial Sector Management and Institutional Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance.
- Apply within 15 days from the notice publication date, specifically by 2080/11/30.
- Pay a fee of NPR 5,000 at the time of application.
- Provide verified documents and details, along with 2 passport-size photographs and 4 copies of the business plan in sealed envelopes.
