Safer Migration Project Phase Ill Vacancy for Migration Expert:
The Safer Migration Project (SaMi) is a bilateral initiative of the Governments of Nepal (GoN) and Switzerland. The overall goal of SaMi is that migrants and their families are better protected by the concerned Nepali institutions and benefit from decent work conditions abroad. SaMi phase III (2018-2022) is implemented under the strategic guidance of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS) and by 156 local governments.
On behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Helvetas Nepal is providing technical assistance at all levels of the project's implementation. Helvetas Nepal invites applications from Nepali citizens for the following position:
1. Position: Migration Expert - 1 position
Job Purpose: Act as a bridge between the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS) and the SaMi Project to share relevant information and lessons learned through project implementation; coordinate and advise on necessary policy reforms; provide technical inputs and assistance to the MoLESS in developing policies and guidelines relating to the improvement of labor migrants' protection in the federal context. The position will also be responsible to support the functioning of the National Migration Resource Center (NMRC) based on the Foreign Employment Board (FEB).
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence: Master's Degree in a relevant field. Minimum 10 years of working experience with the Government of Nepal or Non-government organizations in the relevant field. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction.
Duration: Until 15 September 2020 (with the possibility of extension)
Duty Station: Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS), Singhadurbar and Foreign Employment Board
