Nepal Police invites applications from eligible Nepali citizens for the position of Technical Police Constable under various sub-groups within the Technical Police Group. 1. Technical Police Constable Must be at least 18 and not exceed 23 years as of the last application date. For incumbent unranked police staff, must not exceed 25 years (as per Police Regulation 2071, Rule 40 with amendments).

Minimum Qualifications Required

1. Directorate of Information Technology

  • Education: Passed SLC/SEE or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Training: At least 1-month training certificate in Information Technology from a recognized training center.

  • Must not have been convicted in any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.

  • Must not be affiliated with any political or terrorist organization.

  • Must not have been dismissed from a government job in a way that disqualifies them for future government employment.

  • Eyesight should not be weaker than -2 or +2.

  • Physical Standards:

    • Male: Minimum height 5 ft 2 in, chest 31–33 in, weight 50 kg

    • Female: Minimum height 5 ft, weight 42 kg

  • Must possess a health certificate issued by an approved doctor from Nepal Police Headquarters.

  • Must be a Nepali citizen.

2. Canine Office

  • Passed SLC/SEE or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Must meet all qualifications from serial numbers (b) to (j) mentioned above for the Directorate of Information Technology.

3. Central Police Forensic Science Laboratory

  • Passed SLC/SEE or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Must meet all qualifications from serial numbers (b) to (j) mentioned above for the Directorate of Information Technology.

4. Nepal Police Hospital

  • Passed SLC/SEE or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Completed a minimum 3-month health-related training from a recognized institution.

  • Must meet all qualifications from serial numbers (b) to (j) mentioned above for the Directorate of Information Technology.

5. Directorate of Communication

  • Passed SLC/SEE or equivalent from a recognized institution.

7. Required Documents to Submit with Application:

(a) A copy of Nepali citizenship certificate.

(b) Five (5) identical recent passport-size photographs clearly showing full face including both ears (men must be clean-shaven and have short hair).

(c) Academic certificates of all levels including character certificate, permanent or provisional certificate, transcript/mark sheet. If studied abroad, an equivalency certificate from the Higher Secondary Education Board or Tribhuvan University is required.

(d) Proof documents confirming the status and relationship for candidates from families of deceased or disabled police personnel.

(e) For indigenous nationalities, verification based on the list of recognized ethnic groups under the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities Act. If multiple surnames exist under the same group, a recommendation from the local authority verified by the Chief District Officer is mandatory.

(f) For Madhesi candidates, certification from an institution recognized through a Nepal Gazette notification. If not specified, a recommendation from the local government and verification from the Chief District Officer is required.

(g) For Dalit candidates, verification must be based on the list by the National Dalit Commission. If multiple surnames exist under the same group, verification from the concerned authority is needed.

(h) For candidates from underprivileged districts (Achham, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dolpa, Bajhang, Bajura, Mugu, and Humla), a recommendation confirming permanent residence and citizenship from the same district is required. The recommendation must be dated no more than three months before the application submission. If the citizenship was issued from another district, a justification letter from the issuing District Administration Office is needed.

(i) Each copy of the submitted document must include the applicant’s signature on the back stating: “This is a true copy of the original.”

8. Examination Process:

(a) Preliminary health check-up and physical fitness test.
(b) Detailed medical examination.
(c) Written examination (conducted by the Public Service Commission at designated centers).

Note: For multiple-choice questions, 20% of marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. Only capital letters (A, B, C, D) written in English will be accepted as valid answers.

(d) Practical examination (only for posts with relevant syllabus).
(e) Interview.

11. Special Notes Regarding This Recruitment Notice:

  • In accordance with the Supreme Court’s order dated 2079/10/24 on writ petition No. 078-WO-0662, inclusive positions unfilled in FY 2079/80 will be adjusted and filled as per legal provision.

Important Instructions:

  1. Applicants must apply from only one application center. Duplicate applications will be disqualified.

  2. Results will be published after each stage. Only successful candidates may proceed to the next stage.

  3. Open and inclusive category candidates will take the same exam. Final selection in inclusive categories will be based on competitive scores within that group.

  4. Original documents must be brought during application submission.

  5. As per Police Regulation 2071, Rule 13 (5), if new positions are added before the written results are published, the selection committee may include them through public notice under this same advertisement.

  6. Applications that do not meet requirements can be cancelled at any stage.

  7. Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.
