Nepal Army Sainya Post Vacancy Announcement – Recruitment Directorate, Jangi Adda: Nepal Army invites applications from eligible Nepali citizens to fill vacant Sainya (Military) positions under the approved quota through open and inclusive competition.

Interested candidates who meet the following qualifications must fill out the online application form from the official Nepal Army website www.nepalarmy.mil.np or http://vacancy.nepalarmy.mil.np. After submitting the online form, candidates must print the hard copy and submit it at the designated recruitment center. Alternatively, candidates may visit the recruitment center in person to complete and submit the application form with a postal ticket of NPR 10.

2. Vacancy Details

3. Application Submission Dates and Location:

• Application Period: From 2081/12/29 to 2082/01/27.
  Late submission with double fee allowed from 2082/01/28 to 2082/02/03 (7 extra days).

• If the last date (normal or double fee) falls on a public holiday, applications will be accepted on the next working day.

• Location: Designated recruitment center convenient to the candidate.

4. Application Fee:

• Submit a fee of NPR 150 with the application voucher.

• If applying under more than one group for the same advertisement number, an additional 20% fee per group will be charged.

• Applicants must deposit the amount in the designated bank account, using the office code and revenue title number 14224 (Examination Fee).

• Submit the original and one copy of the voucher along with the application form at the recruitment center.

5. Required Qualifications:

(A) Minimum Academic Qualification:

S.N.Qualification1Must have passed Grade 8. Candidates who passed Grade 9 or 10 must still provide the certificate of Grade 8. If submitting SLC/SEE or higher certificates, Grade 8 certificate is not required, but copies of all certificates above Grade 8 must be submitted.

For certificates issued before the implementation of Letter Grading Guideline 2078:

1. Minimum GPA of 2 in Grade 8 is required, with no subject scoring below D+.

2. For SLC/SEE or higher qualifications, the submitted certificate must show a minimum GPA of 2 or CGPA of 1.6, and no subject below D+.

For certificates issued as per Letter Grading Guideline 2078:

1. For Grade 8 and SEE: Minimum GPA of 2 and possession of the original certificate.

2. For Grade 12: Minimum GPA of 1.6 and possession of the original certificate.

(B) Physical Requirements:

For Male Candidates:

• Height: Minimum 5 feet 3 inches

• Chest: Minimum 32 inches unexpanded and 34 inches expanded

• Weight: Minimum 50 kg (110 pounds)

For Female Candidates:

• Height: Minimum 5 feet

• Weight: Minimum 40 kg (88 pounds)

Note: If using glasses, vision should not be weaker than +2 (applies to all candidates).

(C) Other Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must:

• Be declared medically fit.

• Have no criminal convictions involving moral turpitude.

• Not be affiliated with any political party.

• Not be involved in criminal or destructive activities.

• Not be convicted of espionage against Nepal.

• Not have been punished for violating human rights or humanitarian laws.

• Not have been dismissed from government service in a manner that disqualifies future public employment.

All additional eligibility conditions must comply with the Sainik Sewa Niyamawali, 2069 (with amendments) and Recruitment Selection Directive, 2071.

6. Age Limit:

• Candidates must be between 18 and 22 years by the final application date 2082/01/27. (Born between 2060/01/27 and 2064/01/27)

• For serving Nepal Army personnel, the upper age limit is 26 years (Born on or after 2056/01/27).

7. For Serving Nepal Army Personnel:

• Must have completed at least 1 year of service by 2082/01/27.

• Must submit a recommendation letter from the unit chief.

8. Required Documents to Be Included with the Application:

Candidates must certify copies of the following documents themselves and submit one copy of each, neatly filed in a Nepali file. Any documents with overwriting or double entries will not be accepted. Original copies of all documents must be brought along when submitting the application.

(a) Nepali Citizenship Certificate

(b) Mark sheets, character certificates, and original/provisional certificates of all educational levels

(c) Equivalency certificate from the Curriculum Development Center or Tribhuvan University for those who obtained qualifications from foreign boards or universities

(d) Any additional certificates (e.g., extra-curricular activities or related fields), if available

(e) For children of Nepali Army personnel who became physically disabled due to injury during training or duty, or who died in the line of duty, the following additional documents must be self-certified and submitted:

1. Certified copy of either the official “Need for Support” listing published by the Welfare Directorate or pension document stating “Veergati” (martyrdom) or disability

2. For serving personnel, a copy of the recommendation letter issued by the Medical Board in accordance with Rule 107 of the Military Service Regulation, 2069 (with amendments)

3. Certified copy of relationship proof with the candidate

9. Photographs:

Candidates must submit:

• Four (4) identical recent passport-size photos showing a full-face view with both ears visible. (For male candidates: clean-shaven and with trimmed hair)

• One (1) photo of 2x2 size

10. Exam Contact Date and Location:

After the application has been submitted, the candidate must report to the recruitment center on 2082/02/14 at 11:00 AM.

11. Selection Process:

The following selection procedures will be conducted:

(a) Screening and preliminary health examination, physical test, written examination, detailed medical examination, and interview

(b) Criteria for uniform and physical examination can be viewed in the advertisement uploaded on the official portal of the Recruitment Selection Directorate at http://vacancy.nepalarmy.mil.np under VACANCY & REQUIREMENTS

(c) Selection exams will be conducted at the respective recruitment centers

12. Salary, Allowance, Ration, and Other Facilities:

These will be provided as per the prevailing rules and regulations of the Nepal Army.

13. Other Conditions:

(a) Individuals employed in Nepal Government or semi-government institutions must submit departmental approval when applying

(b) Candidates applying under the inclusive category may apply under only one of the following communities: Indigenous, Madhesi, or Dalit. This restriction does not apply to women. Candidates (male or female) from backward regions may also apply under the backward area quota

(c) Female candidates will be included in Combat Related Duties / Combat Support / Combat Service Support roles only, and not in Direct Combat Duties or Close Combat Roles

(d) Candidates (except for currently serving personnel) must be unmarried and remain so throughout the training period

(e) Only one application per advertisement number and the same post is allowed from one recruitment center only

14. Information on Filling Out the Online Application Form:

(a) Go to www.nepalarmy.mil.np, click on JOIN NEPALI ARMY, or visit http://vacancy.nepalarmy.mil.np, and click on Apply Online

(b) Applicants must enter their citizenship details, personal information, academic qualifications, and family information in Nepali Unicode. Additionally, scanned/digital copies of the applicant’s photo, citizenship certificate, academic certificates, and the revenue payment voucher are mandatory

(c) During the initial stage of the online application, eligibility (age, qualification, citizenship, etc.) will be verified. Only candidates meeting the criteria can proceed to the remaining sections. Once all information and documents are uploaded, the voucher must be uploaded, and the application submitted

(d) After submission, the applicant must download the application form, admit card, and voucher in PDF format and print them

(e) The printed application form must be submitted to the selected recruitment center within the deadline, with the applicant’s photo, postal stamp, and signature

(f) Online applications without submission of the printed form will not be recognized

15. Special Notice:

Under the Supreme Court of Nepal’s directive issued on 2079/10/24 in response to petitions, including Writ No. 078-WO-0382 (in which the Recruitment Selection Directorate and Directorate General of Military Operations were respondents), this notice has been published for recruitment in compliance with existing legal provisions. It also includes positions lost during fiscal year 2079/80 due to delays in implementing inclusive group-related policies.
