MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE ACCOUNT NEPAL (MCA-NEPAL) VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MCA-Nepal) is a Government of Nepal (GoN) agency formed under the Development Board Act 2013 BS (1956 AD) in order to manage a USD 697 million infrastructure program. The program is co-funded by the US Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact grant of USD 500 million and the GoN’s contribution of USD 197 million. The program aims to increase the availability and reliability of electricity, maintain road quality and facilitate power trade between Nepal and the region to help spur investments and accelerate economic growth. The Electricity Transmission Project, a national pride project, and the Road Maintenance Project are two projects under the program. MCA-Nepal invites application for the following position:
Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist (1 position based in Kathmandu)
Gender and Social Inclusion (GSI) Specialist is responsible for integration of GSI into the implementation of compact projects and activities as stated in MCA-Nepal’s Social and Gender Integration Plan (SGIP), MCA-Nepal’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Risk Management Plans, Environmental, Social, Health and Safety Management Plans (ESHSMP), Resettlement Action Plan and other relevant documents.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required) and Advanced (Master’s) degree or higher preferred from a recognized institution in the following or equivalent fields: Natural or Social Science, Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Community Development, Gender Studies;
- At least five (5) years of cumulative experience (notwithstanding whether earned before, after or during pursuit of required academic qualification) in social inclusion;
- Experience in socio-economic gender discrimination, social inclusion research/impact studies and data analysis to inform policies (like Gender Social Inclusion and Trafficking in Persons, risk management), program development, and implementation.
