Independent Living Center (CIL-Pokhara) Required Paid volunteer:

The Independent Living Center (CIL-Pokhara) in partnership with USAID and Handicap International Federation Nepal and World Education Inc. is conducting “Reading for All” in Kaski district to promote reading skills for children with disabilities from class 1 to 3. Under the (Inclusive Education Program) project, applications have been invited from eligible Nepali citizens for the following posts.

1. Position: Volunteer - 7 (Seven)

Educational Qualification: Proficiency Certificate Level (10 + 2), or equivalent in education from a recognized educational institution; In addition, special priority will be given to those who have passed the bachelor's degree in education or other subjects related to inclusive education and disability.

Other Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • At least one year of work experience in the field of disability, inclusive education, and marginalized class, regular school visits to assist children with disabilities in reading and learning,
  • Assist teachers in formulating individual educational plans for students with disabilities, visit homes for students with disabilities, discuss and assist with parents regarding their study and learning,
  • Coaching children with learning and learning disabilities, working in coordination with school family principals, teachers, school management committees, teachers and parents associations and parents,
  • Must be able to collect data, prepare progress reports, have computer skills, understand and speak the local language.

Nepali citizens who have qualified for the above-mentioned posts should submit their application along with their biodata by email to [email protected] during office hours on 5th Magh 2077 (18th January 2021), or Independent Living Center (CIL-Pokhara) is requested to be sent to Nayangaun, Pokhara-15.

In addition, special consideration will be given to the applicants who can understand and speak the local language, have knowledge of sign language and Braille, work experience in the field of disability, persons with disabilities, women, Dalits, tribals, and Janajati as well as residing in Kaski district resource school.

Note: Only applicants shortlisted for the preliminary selection will be allowed to participate in the written and interview examinations.
