Position: Senior Social Protection Programme Officer for IFRC - Danish Red Cross
Qualification: Master's degree in development studies, disaster management, social science, political science or related degree and/or demonstrable experience
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience of working on Social Protection programmes, shock responsive social protection policy and programming; humanitarian cash programming, humanitarian systems, and linkages with social protection systems (understanding of the political economy of linking humanitarian cash with social protection)
Responsibilities:
The overall purpose of this position Is to support throughout Implementation of the "forecast-based Action and Shock Responsive Social Protection Project", the strengthening of capacities of Nepal Red Cross Society Headquarters and field teams (staff and volunteers), as well as government personnel supported through the project, in understanding the Social Protection system; and to contribute to the development of Shock Responsive Social Protection mechanisms that will allow the system to act in anticipation of a disaster and continue functioning during and after a disaster (business continuity). The Senior Social Protection Programme Officer will also contribute to the quality of the implementation and a process of learning and documentation of best practices.
