HELVETAS NEPAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Reintegration of Returnee Migrant Workers (ReMi) Project, Phase I

Reintegration of Returnee Migrant Workers (ReMi) project is a bilateral initiative of Governments of Nepal and Switzerland. The project contributes to the social and economic reintegration of returnee migrant workers in Nepal. The project is implemented by Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security; provincial line ministries and local governments in Koshi and Madhesh Provinces (visit https://remi.org.np for more information). Helvetas Nepal as Technical Assistance provider to the project invites applications from committed and experienced Nepali citizens for the following positions:

1. Position: Knowledge Management and Digitalization Specialist (1)

Duty Station: ReMi Project Support Unit, Lalitpur

Job purpose:

Establish an effective monitoring, evaluation and learning system and closely monitor implementation, including digital systems. Support digitalization through and within the ReMi project for project management and ICT4D solutions. Lead all knowledge management activities, ensuring that key project learnings are compiled, documented, held as disseminated amongst relevant stakeholders, including Governments of Nepal and Switzerland, Helvetas head office and other implementation partners. Communications and visibility focal point for ReMi project.

Required Education, Experience and Social competencies:

Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Development Studies, Project Management, Mass communications, or other relevant field. Minimum five years working experience in knowledge management (including monitoring and evaluation, database and learning system operation, and communications) in development sector. Demonstrated work experience in digital transformation initiatives and IT project management is an added value. Advanced communication and reporting abilities in both English and Nepali languages (verbal and written). Prior work experience at the federal, provincial or local level Government system and/or in labor migration sector will be an advantage. 2. Finance and Administrative Officer (1)

Duty Station: ReMi Province Project Support Unit, Madhesh Province

Job purpose:

Manage all financial, administrative, human resource and logistics management of ReMi PSSU in Madhesh province. Follow up on financial budgeting, monitoring, and reporting of province/line-ministries and working local governments in Madhesh province. Ensure compliance to all relevant policies and procedures, including those of Helvetas Nepal, SDC and Government of Nepal. Support Finance & Administration Manager, as required, in human resource management, budgeting, fund flow, financial/audit reports of partners and any other duties.

Required Education, Experience and Social competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Management, Commerce. Minimum 3 years of working experience in finance/accounting, administration in a similar position (preferred in INGOs). Experience working on Public Financial Management with provincial and local government will be an added value. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction.

3. Program Officer- Inter-Government Coordination (2)

Duty Station: ReMi Province Project Support Unit, Koshi and Madhesh Province (Only female candidates for Madhesh Province)

Job purpose:

Support central and local governments to implement the project in close collaboration with Employment Service Centres (ESCs) and support them to develop and implement reintegration strategies/guidelines, early plans of operation, and to allocate funds for social protection and reintegration of returnee migrant workers in a coordinated manner. Support overall management of the project for the accomplishment of project objectives and targets as stipulated in the project document. Support project monitoring, evaluation, documentation, and reporting. Support mobilization and capacity building of network/cooperatives to provide sustained reintegration services to returnee migrant workers, their families, and communities.

Required Professional Education, Experience and Social Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Economics, Development Cooperation or in any relevant discipline. Minimum 3 years of working experience in collaborating with local and/or provincial government for implementation of social, economic and/or human rights development projects/programs. Demonstrated experience in working with local governments including ESCs, Migration Resource Centers, and/or with returnee migrants, will be welcomed added value. Prior work experience at the federal, provincial or local level Government system and/or in labor migration sector will be an advantage. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction.

Duration for all positions: Till 15th July 2026 (with possibility of extension).
