Government of Switzerland Vacancy for Finance Controller cum Deputy Head, Finance and Controlling:
Switzerland through its development cooperation has been engaged in Nepal since 1959. With the establishment of its Embassy in Nepal in August 2009, Switzerland's assistance in Nepal continues to focus on federal state-building, employment, and income through agriculture, rural infrastructure, and vocational skills, as well as migration. Switzerland is committed to supporting Nepal's socio-economic development and federal state building at national and sub-national levels.
The Embassy of Switzerland offers a competitive salary and benefits package as well as a stimulating team and working environment. We are looking for a young, energetic Nepali national for the following position for 2 years fixed term contract with the possibility of extension:
1. Finance Controller cum Deputy Head, Finance and Controlling
As a member of the Embassy of Switzerland's finance team, and in close collaboration with SOC-funded projects and partners, the Finance Controller cum Deputy Head, Finance and Controlling monitors and helps to promote effective and efficient use of projects’ resources.
Specific fields of activity:
- Advises and supports the Programme Team members in the areas of Finance and Controlling in the Programme Cycle management
- Act as a focal person of the Embassy for Aid Management Information System (AMIS) a web-based database of Ministry of Finance (MoF)
- Supports the Head of Finance and Controlling in the functioning of ICS and also in the preparation of ICS reports
- Conducts Partner Risk Assessment
- Manages contracts through SAP system
- During the absence of Head, Finance, and Controlling, take up her/his responsibility and management role and carry out the work assigned by the management.
Required Expert Competence
- Chartered Accountant with a Master's degree (Business Administration, Commerce or Management);
- Minimum 5-year experience in the area of Accounting, and Financial Management;
- Excellent written and spoken English; Excellent presentation skills: Good IT User knowledge (MS Office, SAP, Vision+).
Required Methodical and Social competence:
Result-oriented; Pronounced analytical abilities; independent and ‘out of the box’ thinking: Process design; Methods and knowledge of Project Cycle Management, Meticulous working style; Proactive attitude: Resilient; Ability to work in a team; Able to deal with criticism and conflict; Client-oriented: Advisory and coaching skills; Negotiation and communication skills; Sensitivity towards Gender & Social Inclusion.
Leadership Competency: Able to define clear objectives and priorities: Management Competence; Adherent to rules and regulations.
