Kantipur Management Private Limited (KMPL) announces the vacancy for Adaptation for Smallholders in Hilly Areas (ASHA) Project, an undertaking of the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE) with the ­nancial support of   International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). This  is  a  six-year  project  (e‑ective  From  February  2015).  It  has  been  implementing  in  seven  districts  (Kalikot, Dailekh, Salyan, Jajarkot, Rukum East, Rukum West and Rolpa) of Province Number Five and Karnali Province. MoFE is the Executing Agency with overall project implementation responsibilities.

Department of Agriculture and  Department of  Livestock  Service of  (then)  Ministry of  Agricultural  Development are the implementing partners. The project implements its activities in close collaboration with District Coordination Committees and Division Forest Once in each district. ASHA is a climate change adaptation project that supports developing the capacity to tackle the consequences of climate change.

The goal of this project is to reduce poverty in the hilly areas of Nepal, who are facing challenges due to climate change.  There are two main outcomes in the project, Framework for local-level climate adaptation strengthened and Climate resilience of vulnerable smallholder farmers improved.KMPL  hereby  invites  applications  from  interested  and  appropriately  quali­ed  Nepalese  citizens  for  the following job position as per the following minimum requirements of quali­cation and experiences:

Position: Social Mobilization Officer -6

Duty Station: Project District

Minimum Quali­cation and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • At least  3  years of experience in officer level position in social mobilization,  climate change adaptation, agriculture, and NRM.
  • Special preferences will be given to the person of ASHA project districts, Dalits, Janajaties and Women.
  • Good understanding of climate change adaptation and demonstrated behavior  on gender and social inclusion sensitivity and pro-poor commitment.
