Nepal Telecom Connected High-speed Internet in Mustang:

Nepal Telecom has connected high-speed internet at an altitude of 3800 meters in Mustang. According to Telecom, this is the first time in Nepal that internet service has been extended to a higher region.

Keshav Sharma, a senior engineer at Nepal Telecom Baglung, said that Fiber to the Home (FTTH) technology has been expanded for the first time in the Waragung Free Zone of the religious and tourist Mustang for high-speed internet.

He said that Nepal Telecom has expanded the FTTH fiber net in Waragung Free Zone 1 and 2 on Wednesday in the process of expanding high-speed internet service across the country.

Nepal Telecom Jomsom Branch has expanded high-speed internet in Khinga, Jharkot, Purang Ranipowwa, Muktinath, Chhengur, Jhong, and Pudak villages of Varagung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality, said Telecom Jomsom Branch Chief Suman Ram Shrestha.

According to him, Telecom Jomsom has already expanded internet service in all 5 wards of Gharpojhong rural municipality of Mustang and Kagbeni of Varagung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality-4.

Earlier, locals in wards 1 and 2 of Varagung Muktichhetra were using WiMAX internet service. Locals and tourists visiting the Muktinath area used mobile data.

With the expansion of services in Muktichhetra, it has become easier for tourists and locals to access the internet, said local tourism entrepreneur Suraj Gurung.

Nepal Telecom has been providing high-speed internet service through FTTH technology since last year instead of traditional copper wire. Telecom has stated that this service will be gradually expanded to other local levels.
