
Ncell Axiata Limited has revised the international call charges of 19 countries of the world with effect from June 4, 2021. Ncell has fixed the call rate as per the approval given by the new tariff regulator Nepal Telecommunication Authority.
On May 23, 2021, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) granted Ncell access to Italy, Malta, Germany, Tajikistan, Jordan, Thailand, Latvia, Slovenia, Maldives, Belgium, Estonia, Croatia, Finland, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Syrian Arab Republic, It approved new international call charges for 19 countries.
With the approval of the NTA, Ncell's international tariffs for these countries are now equal to the minimum tariffs charged by other service providers as per the approval of the Authority.
According to the new revised international tariffs, 18 countries have been set at Rs 30 per minute excluding excise duty, while the Maldives has been set at Rs 30.65 per minute excluding excise duty. Earlier, calls to these countries used to cost from Rs 4.99 to Rs 15 per minute depending on the destination country.
Ncell's per-minute call charges for the Maldives are still much lower than those charged by other service providers. Although the call fee approved by the NTA is Rs 30 per minute, depending on the destination country, the call fee of some European destinations is up to Rs 1,170.30 excluding tax.
