Overview
St. Xavier’s School was established in 1951 A.D. as a community /government educational institutions of Nepal, which is located in the Godavari, Lalitpur, Nepal. It is affiliated to the National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers educational programs from ECD to Grade 10 (plus two in the Management, and Science streams.
St. Xavier’s School, Godavari is a school under the management of the Nepal Jesuit Society. Nepal Jesuit Society is the Nepal branch of the Society of Jesus, an international Catholic Religious Order. The Society of Jesus was founded in Europe by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540. Members of the Society of Jesus popularly known as the Jesuits, have been active in the field of education and other fields of service worldwide since its origin.
Vision:- St. Xavier’s School educational apostolate aims at accompanying persons to achieve a fullness in life. Its Education enables students to become effective agents of social change, and persons with and for others.
Mission:- The management and staff of St. Xavier’s School, Godavari are a community of educators. St. Xavier’s School commits itself, along with parents in transforming the society by developing its students physically, emotionally intellectually, and spiritually and by instilling in them the love of God and country. St. Xavier’s School strives to form competent, Committed, and compassionate students who will be men and women for others living out the values of truth, justice, and equality.
Scholarship:- St. Xavier’s Godavari school, since it became a day school from a residential school, has given prime importance to educating economically and socially poor children. First of all, the school fees are heavily subsidized to allow the local village children to attend school. Besides, the school has a very well-run scholarship program that helps about 137 students to study in the school freely. 68 of the scholarship students are girls. Over and above this, the school accommodates 17 boys from two remote villages in Nepal’s Dhading and Jhapa districts in one of its residences, providing a full scholarship for their studies along with their board and lodging. A staff member is appointed full time to take care of their educational and other needs. The number of requests for scholarships goes up every year and it is hard to offer positive response to them as our school runs on minimum fees and at operational cost.
