Overview
Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Pokhara (सैनिक आवासीय महाविद्यालय, पोखरा) was established in 2061 BS (2004 AD) as a government educational institution, which is situated in Phoolbari, Pokhara Lekhnath-11, Kaski, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is affiliated with the National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers educational programs from PG to grade 10 and Plus Two (Class 11 and 12) in Science, Management, Humanities streams, and BBS programs (TU affiliated).
Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Pokhara, provides up to secondary level education with moderate fee structures and a scholarship scheme for deserving students.
SAM Pokhara follows the National Curriculum developed by the CDC (Curriculum Development Centre) of the Nepal Government as authentic teaching learning materials from Grades VI to XII (NEB). Besides, additional teaching learning and reference materials are adapted for certain subjects deemed necessary by the subject teachers. Meanwhile, for the BBA program, we strictly follow the curriculum developed by Tribhuvan University.

Mission & Vision:
Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya aims to provide world-class quality education to the children of the Nepalese Army(In-service and Ex-Army personnel) and the children of civilian families in order to produce patriotic, dexterous, versatile, disciplined, and dedicated human resources that can lead the country in various walks of life.
Salient Features:
Library:- The Mahavidyalaya has a well-equipped central library along with other junior and reference libraries for the students of all levels. They have a good collection of books, journals, and newspapers.
Transportation:- The Mahavidyalaya has a reliable fleet of buses for the students at affordable costs. The bus routes are arranged to suit the convenience of the students as far as possible after the consultation with the concerned parents or guardians.
Science Lab:- The Mahavidyalaya has well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, English, and Geography labs. It also has a clay and craft room that works as a lab. Various kinds of experiments are done under the supervision of related teachers.
Computer Lab:- A computer lab is a space that provides computer services to all of our students. Today's generation is on information technology which makes our student's future well. Our computer Labs are well maintained with new technology computers.
Dining Hall:- The Mahavidyalaya has a big dining hall for breakfast, lunch, khaja, dinner, or supper. It provides a fresh, healthy, and balanced diet to the students and staff all the time.
Playground:- Huge playground for different games and sports events; Various kinds of spots for indoor and outdoor games. Students can get refreshed by playing various kinds of games in an open environment.
Health Center:- The Mahavidyalaya has a separate medical department for First aid. Students can contact the health center and get free health advice as necessary.
Hostel:- It provides separate Boys & Girls Hostel for students from different districts.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

Students should strictly follow all the rules and regulations of the Mahavidyalaya.

Students of this Mahavidyalaya should abide by all the rules and disciplinary acts in and outside the Mahavidyalaya premises.

Students should be loyal to the nation and the Institution.

Students should be proud of their nation and strive towards the development and the promotion of their nation and feeling of nationality.

Students should not carry out the following activities without prior permission of the Principal.

Organizing meetings

Calling an outsider and let the outsider make any kind of speech.

Organizing any sort of entertainment and sports activities.

Setting up any kind of association or a union.

Students are forbidden to carry out any activities that can tarnish the image and dignity of the Institution.

Students should not indulge in beating, use of abusive language and insult other student, staff or officials of Nepal Army or the administrative staff associated to the Principal Office either in writing, speaking or by gestures.

Vandalizing of or any damage caused to assets e.g windows, mirrors, furniture, books and scientific instruments etc is the violation of disciplinary acts. In case of anyone found involved in such acts, the student or the student group shall have to pay the compensation.

Students should be inside the Mahavidyalaya premises during the study hours unless he or she has received the prior permission from the Principal or the concerned individuals/officials.

It is compulsory for all the boy students to have beard shaved, hair well-combed, shoes polished and neatly dressed while being present in PT, Drill, classes, sports or any other Mahavidyalaya activities.

Boy students are required to keep their hair short and tidy. Similarly, girl students should always have their hair neat and tidy and be dressed in specified uniform. They should not wear any valuable ornaments and have untidy nails.

Students should use polite language and possession of arms of any kind within the Mahavidyalaya premises is strictly prohibited.

Students should take prior permission of the Principal if they have to take part in any activities e.g. drama and dance representing the Mahavidyalaya.

Student’s presence in the Mahavidyalaya during the study hours is compulsory. Prior permission of the Principal should be sought in case of inability to be present.

Student’s participation in classroom, PT and other activities is compulsory unless he or she holds a reliable proof of being ill. Students need to carry chits given by Housemasters or class teachers while entering M.I room for sick report.

Students should behave in respectful manner with senior students, teachers and other staff of the Mahavidyalaya. Likewise, they should behave with junior students with love and courtesy.

English is the medium of instruction in the Mahavidyalaya and it is compulsory for the students to speak in English as a means of communication.

The Mahavidyalaya will automatically and compulsorily rusticate students who fail annual examination twice.

Students are not allowed to enter certain prohibited areas in the Mahavidyalaya premises.

Students who violate the Code of Conduct may go through the following process of disciplinary actions.

Verbal or written warning may be given.
-
Suspension up to 2 weeks may follow.
-
Shall be expelled from the Mahavidyalaya.

Apart from the above-mentioned rules in the Code of Conduct, Management Committee of the Mahavidyalaya reserves authority to take action against any acts that will be considered as breach of discipline.
