Overview
Ratna Rajya Secondary School (Nepali: रत्नराज्य माध्यामिक विद्यालय ) was established on 28 April 1960 (2017-1-16 B.S.) as a community based educational institution, which is located in Mid Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is affiliated to the National Examinations Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers Plus Two programs under Management, Humanities, and Education streams.
Despite the foundation stone on 28 April 1960 (2017-1-16 BS..) of this school from the then Rural Development Minister Prem Prasad Angdambe. The education was started on 30 March 1962 (2018-12-17 BS). Pandit Shri Modanath Neupane had started the teaching work by educating some children. There was no school building. Under the supervision of Kamal Bikram Pandey, Chairman of the building sub-committee, an amount of Rs 8,000 was provided for the construction of the school by the then Shri. The name of this Ratnarajya Laxmidevi school is inaugurated from Badamaharani on 3 May 1964 (2021-1-21 B.S.). The school was established as a secondary school under the active support of the then headmaster Padma Singh Karki.
Even after four decades since the school was established, the school building was not able to stand on the land it owned. The school was traditionally operated. The choice of society started becoming a private school. It was necessary to modernize the school by improving the physical condition of the school and making timely changes in teaching. The collective efforts that have been made in this area for over a decade have changed the school a lot. From the 2008 AD year to 2018 AD, the number of students has reached 2200. By expanding the physical facilities enough, this number can be convinced that there will be more growth.
Educational development
(A) Reading through English
As the demand for the English language is increasing in the world market and in order to raise the standard of education of the community schools, English language education is started.
(B) Creating a child-friendly environment
The task of teaching the child-friendly environment was started by studying the psychology of the children, willpower, ability, emotions, their problems.
(C) House partition and additional activities
The students started studying in the school, splitting the houses called Everest, Gaurishankar, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, and began to expose their inherent talents.
(D) Arrangement of school dress
Four types of school outfits have been arranged for the school students on the basis of four houses.
(E) interactive program and planning
Planning was undertaken through interviews with management committee officials, principals, assistant principals, department heads, class teachers and student representatives to improve the quality of education and mobilize financial resources.
(1) Ratnashree mother group and literacy campaign
Principal Dr. With the involvement of the neighboring mothers of Vidyalaya in the service of the Geeta Shivakoti-Kharel-2, the work of making education available to the illiterate mothers of Baneshwor and other development activities was started.
(2) Provision of first aid
The primary treatment has been arranged with the help of Ganga Medicalhall if there is a general injury inside the school.
(3) Question paper preparation and examination
The task of forming question papers and conducting examinations in a time-bound manner has been initiated by maintaining confidentiality within the school for the unit development, monthly examination and annual examination for the intellectual development of the children.
(4) Provision of prizes for teachers and students
Since the establishment of the Akshaya Kosh, by the renowned people of Baneshwor, the Akshaya Kosh has started the task of rewarding the zealous students and teachers every year with the interest received from the Akshaya Kosh.
(5) Management of computer education
In the era of science and technology, computer subject pedagogy has been started as an elective subject for grades 8 through 9 to produce relative manpower.
(6) Beginning of yoga and meditation education
After coming to this school as a yoga instructor, Dr. Madhusudan Lamichhane, a teacher of this school for theoretical and experimental knowledge, yoga and physical development, the practice of teaching and practicing yoga and meditation has begun in the students.
(7) Formation of sister club every day
The Sister's Club has been set up daily to provide free sanitary pads to the part of the menu and to the non-readers as administrators, keeping in mind the monthly problems of the students studying in this school.
(8) Formation of Eco Club
The construction of the green environment of the school has begun with the formation of an acrobat, with Durga Prasad Bhatt as the focal teacher of the school.
(9) Library arrangements
Since a textbook alone cannot provide enough knowledge to the learner, a systematic library of books worth about Rs. 4 lakh has been arranged to acquire additional knowledge for intellectual development.
Ratna Rajya Secondary School provides up to Secondary School level education with moderate fee structures and also provides a scholarship scheme for deserving students.
From the earliest times to the present day the principals:
Pandit Modanath Neupane, Principals: Hem Hamal, Uttam Prasad Baskota, Pradeep Singh Thapa, Bimalraj Nepal, Gopal Gautam, Dhruvraj Khanal, Haribol Bhattarai, Khagendra Bahadur Basnet, Padmashadh Karki, Khadananda Giri, and Gopal Bakota are the main teachers of this school. During the time of the present Principal, Dr. Geeta Kharel, the school has a significant role in the physical, economic and educational development of the school.

Tirthanath Aryal, Indra Prasad Sharma, Mahendra Bahadur Thapa, Yajnavivaram Rana, Shiv Prasad Sharma, Shadananda Giri, Sardar Fatte Bahadur Pandey, Mrs. Kamla Rana, Mrs. Vidhdevi Bhattachan, Kuveer Sharma, Dinesh Raj Bhattarai, Narayan Prasad Bharari, Narayan Prasad Kandari There is a similar role. Of which, the contribution of Dinesh Raj Bhattarai, who has been the chairperson for nearly two decades, is significant.
Current School Management Committee:
Keshavmani Oli is the chair of the school management committee, and members include Bishnukumari Bhusal, Dipendra Shrestha, Radhika Shrestha, Kunti Pathak, ex-member Oda president Ram Kumar KC, teacher representative Meen Prasad Koirala and member secretary Dr. Geeta Kharel's governing body has been very active in the development of the school.

Construction of new buildings, construction of conference hall, construction of Cafeteria, construction of new post-earthquake, drinking water system, commencement of teaching through English, construction of child-friendly environment, division of house and additional activities, triangular relationship between teachers, parents and students, teacher's and student's clothing. Arrangements, the establishment of Ratna Shri Maa group and literacy drive, provision of primary care, Rasnapatra Construction and privacy, teachers' and students' awards, computer education are features of this school.
