Overview
Nepal Bharat Maitri Vidyalaya was opened in the year 2000 to look after the educational requirement of the ward of brave Gorkhas who have served and have been serving the Indian Army. The Vidyalaya is managed by the Military wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and patronized by the Ambassador of India.
Nepal Bharat Maitri Vidyalaya (NBMV), Pension Paying Office Pokhara started functioning with effect from 17 July 2000 with the strength of 226 students. The motto of the school is Strength, Knowledge, and Courage and our mission is "TO BRING OUT THE EXCELLENCE IN EACH CHILD TO MEET THE GLOBAL CHALLENGES IN 21 CENTURY".
Nepal Bharat Maitri Vidyalaya (NBMV) has a two-tier management committee for the proper functioning of the school. Some Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Army officers posted at Indian Embassy for 3 years are members of the Board of Governors and Vidyalaya Management Committee. Vidyalaya has been changing the teacher's representatives and parents' representatives every year.
AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Nepal Bharat Maitri Vidyalaya Caters to the educational needs of wards of ex-servicemen and serving soldiers, shaping them to face the challenging needs of 21 st century. The Vidyalaya is designed to act as a Citadel of Learning and harbinger of quality consciousness and is committed to developing the mind and initiatives of the children at affordable prices. The endeavor of the school is:

- To provide maximum exposure to real-life situations and awaken the consciousness of each youth.
- To bring out the inherent goodness and intelligence through multifaceted activities.
- To foster the friendship among children studying in this school
ADMISSION CRITERIA
The school-going children of citizens of Nepal and India are eligible for admission. However, wards of Ex-servicemen and serving soldiers are given preference.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- Admission to Nepal Bharat Maitri Vidyalaya will be conducted through:
- Admission Test in the following subjects:
- Class I to V (Math, Science, English, and GK)
- Class VI to IX - (English, Math, Nep/Hindi, Science, and GK)
- Transfer from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Army Schools, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and CBSE-recognized schools.
On acceptance of students documents i.e. progress report, proof of age, transfer certificate of the previous school, and relation certificate to get the benefit of the subsidized fee have to be deposited along with the admission form. However, admission will be taken as per CBSE by-laws.
