Kalika Manavgyan Secondary School, Butwal, also known as कालिका मानवज्ञान माध्यमिक विद्यालय, बुटवल, रुपन्देही, is a community educational institution located in Butwal Sub-Metropolitian, Butwal 10, Rupandehi, Lumbini Zone, Nepal. Established in 1961 AD (2018 BS), this school has been providing quality education to students from PG to grade 10 and Plus Two (Class 11 and 12) in Management, Science, Humanities, Computer Engineering, and Education streams.
History and Accreditation:
Kalika Secondary School was established with the help of local residents, most of whom were ex-armies. They realized the need to educate their children, and hence, the school was set up in an open ground in the southern part of Kalikanagar. It was established as a primary school and was later upgraded to a lower secondary level school in 2029 B.S. In 2032 B.S., it was upgraded to a secondary level school. This school has been able to become a leading community school in the Rupandehi district and has been playing a great role in the development of the quality of education.
The school is affiliated with the National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It has been able to be an "A Grade School" because of its good management, quality of education, and dedicated teachers. It is an ISA certified community school, and many students from far away come to study here. Kalika Secondary school offers both General and Technical Education. In General, there are classes from ECD to class 12, and in the Technical stream, Computer Engineering is offered from class 9 to 12. The school offers Science, Computer Engineering, Management, Education, Humanities, and Law faculties.

Kalika Manavgyan Secondary School is currently the highest enrolment community school in Nepal, with 4397 students studying and 185 teaching and 15 non-teaching staff working in this school. The school has a vision of inculcating a sound human formation, for the total development of the whole person, making the students, staff, and parents well-integrated persons, spiritually, socially, intellectually, morally, and culturally. It envisions that its graduates leave the school with a balance of fundamental skills and a set of spiritual and moral values, patience, and respect for others, and strong self-esteem and high personal expectations.
