Geetamata Secondary School, Kathmandu was established in 1961 A.D. (2017 B.S.) as a community-based educational institution of Nepal which is located in KMC-15, Bijeshwori, Dallu, Kathmandu. It is affiliated National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers education programs from Ten Plus Two under Management, Humanities, and Education streams.
Geetamata Secondary School, Kathmandu founded with aims to provide quality education and has grown to become a leading center for education in community-based within a span of its history. lt has persuaded education excellence and accessible educational programs that respond to the need for academic enrichment in higher level and professional development to the large mass of the community, and it has promoted secondary programmes in 2057 B.S. (2001 A.D.).
To strengthen quality education in the modern context, it was felt necessary to expand and diversify the institution, So It has established Geetamata Community College (GMC) Since academic session 2067 B.S. (2011 A.D.).
Geetamata Secondary School has observed the Golden jubilee, inaugurated by honorable First President of Nepal Dr.Ram Baran Yadav, on 8th Baishakh 2068 B.S. to celebrate its 50 years of establishment. The school is aware of the role of an academic institution in developing professional efficiency, inculcating a higher values system, keeping or nurturing the patriotic spirit in the acquisition of knowledge, wisdom, and positive cultural values. The school is conducted by a group of highly famed, well trained, and qualified professional with experience in the field of education.

Geetamata Secondary School (Day Shift) program is running in both Bijeshwori and Dallu block. Morning Shift Program is running in Dallu block.

Education Programs:
Pre-Primary (Play Group Program): The Nursery and Kindergarten classes are running in Dallu Block. The program is from 10 AM to 3:30 PM
Secondary Level Academics Program: From Grade 9 to 12 is introduced as a secondary level program. Due to the lack of classroom up to grade 10 class are running in day shift and grade 11 and 12 are running in the morning shift
Primary (Basic Level Program): From Grade one to Grade 8 is considered a basic level program. The classes are running from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Grade 11 & 12: The classes of grades 11 and 12 are running under 3 strems: Humanities, Management & Education. Classes are running in morning shift from 6 AM to 10 AM
