This initiative is part of UGC's commitment to enhancing access to higher education for various underprivileged groups. Here's what you need to know about the application process:

  • Eligibility Criteria: The scholarship is aimed at supporting students who are disabled, economically disadvantaged, or descendants of Dalits, martyrs, conflict victims, freedmen, and Muslim women. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate program in the financial year 2080/081.

  • Application Deadline: The deadline for submitting the scholarship application is the 2nd of Falgun, 2080. It's crucial to adhere to this deadline as late submissions or those lacking necessary documents will not be considered.

  • How to Apply: Interested candidates can apply by visiting the UGC's official website at www.ugcnepal.edu.np. The application process involves filling out the form online and uploading the required documents, including a recommendation letter.

  • Required Documents: Applicants need to upload several key documents along with their application form:

    1. A copy of the Nepali Citizenship Certificate.
    2. A recent passport-size photograph.
    3. A letter of recommendation can be downloaded from the scholarship section of the UGC website.
    4. Details of the applicant's bank account, including a copy of the checkbook.
    5. For students already receiving scholarships, Schedule 5 must be filled out, and a progress statement should be attached.
  • Additional Information for Current Scholarship Recipients: Students who have already been selected for scholarships and have received the first two installments must submit a progress report to receive the remaining installment.

  • NEHEP Program Scholarships: Scholarships provided under the NEHEP program's economically disadvantaged or Dalit quota will only be available during the project period.
