
University Grants Commission Notice Regarding Application Forms for Higher Education Scholarships
According to the University Grants Commission Program Procedure 2081 and Higher Education Scholarship Management (First Amendment) Directive, 2080, scholarships will be provided to students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged or Dalit students, children of martyrs and conflict victims, Mukta Kamlari, and Muslim women students to increase access to higher education.
Students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria and are enrolled in the first year of Bachelor's/Master's level in the fiscal year 2081/082 should submit scholarship application forms online by clicking on "Scholarship" on the Commission's website www.ugcnepal.edu.np by Chaitra 13, 2081 (March 26, 2025). Required documents and recommendation letters must be uploaded.
Required Documents to Upload with Application:

Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate

Proof of enrollment in an educational institution (admission bill or recommendation letter)

Recommendation letter (Annex 2) - downloaded from the website's Scholarship section and recommended by the relevant authority

Copy of transcript of the latest educational degree

Copy of the student's bank checkbook (Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nepal Bank Limited, or Agricultural Development Bank)

Certificate and recommendation letter identifying relevant category:
(a) For children of martyrs or conflict victims: Recommendation letter from local government, district administration office, or authority designated by the Nepal Government certifying status as child of martyr or conflict victim
(b) For persons with disabilities: Disability certificate (category of disability must be specified)
(c) For Dalits: Proof of Dalit caste/ethnicity
(d) For freed Kamlari: Proof of freed Kamlari status
(e) For Muslim women: Proof of Muslim identity
(f) For economically disadvantaged: Certificate/recommendation issued by Nepal Government or affiliated agencies certifying economically disadvantaged household status
Students selected for scholarships who have received first, second, and third installments must fill out the form in Annex-5 of the Higher Education Scholarship Management (First Amendment) Directive, 2080 and submit it along with a progress report (grade sheet) to receive remaining installments.

Applications received after the deadline or without the required documents will not be processed. No student will be awarded duplicate scholarships for studying at the same level.
Notes:

Scholarships under the economically disadvantaged or Dalit quota from the NEHEP program will be provided only for the project's duration.

New applicants, except children of martyrs, conflict victims, and students with disabilities, must not exceed 25 years of age for Bachelor's level and 30 years for Master's level at the time of application.

Applications from students who need to renew their scholarships will not be valid.
