Detailed information about the scholarship for the 2021 September session in Pokhara University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Master and MPhil level programs.
Since students have to be selected from open competition for the following programs and free scholarships in the affiliated colleges and educational institutions under Pokhara University (205 of the approved admission quota) and affiliated (105 of the approved admission quota); Applications are invited from Nepali citizens who have reached the following qualifications.
Of the seats received, 60 percent are open and 40 percent are reserved for scholarships for Dalits, Janajatis, remote areas, the disabled, martyrs and people's movement injured victims, and the Madhesi community.
50 and 50 percent of seats have been reserved for women in both open and reserved scholarships.
As per the Pokhara University Scholarship Rules, 2065, the free scholarship quota to be received by the university will be distributed to the successful candidates who have been included in the qualifying list of the entrance examination conducted by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
If the quota remains vacant even after such distribution, study in public and institutional schools and do SEE. Scholarships will be distributed as open scholarships as per the rules on the basis of applications received from the students included in the qualifying list who have passed the SLC.
In addition, students who have studied in an institutional or private school and passed the SSE or SLC will not have to submit any letter of recommendation.
Applicants who have passed SEE or SLC after studying from class 6 to class 10 in a public school must apply for open scholarships, local scholarships, Dalit scholarships, Janajati scholarships, remote scholarships, scholarships for the disabled, martyrs and people's movement injured victims, and Madhesi community scholarships. Documents confirming that you have studied in a public school from class 6 to class 10 in the format as per schedule 2 have to be submitted.

a) Open Scholarships b) Local Scholarships c) Dalit Scholarships d) Tribal Scholarships e) Remote Scholarships f) Disabled, Martyrs and People's Movement Injured Victims Scholarships) Teacher Staff Children Scholarships and h) Madhesi Community Scholarships.
2) Information about the scholarship program and scholarship quota:
a) Master of Development Studies (MDEVS), - 5 Seats (SDSE, Pokhara)
b) Master of Arts in English – 3 Seats (IACER, Kathmandu)
c) MPhil in English – 3 Seats (IACER, Kathmandu)
3) Minimum qualifications required to be a candidate:
The following qualifications and conditions should be fulfilled for the application of scholarship.
(A) The candidate should be a Nepali citizen.
(B) To apply at the postgraduate level, only those who have not passed the graduation level or similar recognized educational institution for more than 3 years (from the completion date mentioned in the educational certificate to the last day to apply for the scholarship) may apply. However, in case the Completion Date (Year-Month-Date) is not specified in the educational certificate, the concerned candidate should submit the certified copy of the Completion Date (Year-Month-Date) disclosed by the concerned Examination Border Examination Control Office along with the mandatory application. There will be no post-graduate deadline for MPhil level.
(C) Candidates applying for Remote Area Reservation Seats should reside permanently in public schools of the same district (class 6 to class Achham, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dolpa, Bajhang, Bajura, Mugu and Humla). Must have passed the entrance exam by studying up to 10. Recommendation for permanent residence is also from the concerned local level.
(D) For Dalit Reservation Seats from National Dalit Commission or concerned local level. In case of disability, from the National Association of the Handicapped or the concerned District Administration Office, from the concerned District Administration Office in the case of the injured or their descendants of the people's movement and also in the case of the children of the martyr's family. For Madhesi reservation seats, there should be castes as recommended by the concerned district administration office.
(E) Candidates applying for the local scholarship should be citizens residing permanently within the Pokhara Metropolitan Region and the recipient of this scholarship should study in the affiliated school of Pokhara University.
As per the decision of the university, the candidate who gets the highest marks among the candidates applying for this local scholarship will be selected for the local scholarship and in the case of other candidates, they will be included in the open scholarship as per the rules on the basis of their merit points.
(F) Scholarship for Teacher Staff Children Scholarship shall be in accordance with the Rules, 2065. In addition, the applicant must submit a photocopy of the identity card of his / her parents working in Pokhara University service, recommendation letter of the concerned office where the parents are working and a certificate of open relationship with the parents working in Pokhara University service.
4) Necessary documents to be submitted by the candidate
4.1) Candidates studying in government community schools will have to submit the following self-certified copy documents along with the application.
(A) Certified copy of Nepali citizenship,
(B) a certified copy of the Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Character, having passed the SSE or SLC or similar examination,
(C) Certified copy provided by the concerned local level that the candidates applying for local scholarship are permanently residing within the Pokhara Metropolitan Area,
(D) Certificate of transcript and certified copy of character certificate of passing certificate level or ten plus two level or similar examination.
(E) Certified copy of transcript and character certificate for passing postgraduate level, or equivalent and MPhil level application for postgraduate level application.
(F) a certified copy provided by the disabled person as a disabled person from the National Federation of the Disabled or the concerned District Administration Office,
(G) Certified copy provided by the Janajati as Adivasi / Janajati Upliftment National Foundation or Adivasi / Janajati from the concerned local level,
(H) Certified copy provided by Dalit as Dalit caste from Dalit National Commission or concerned local level,
(I) A certified copy provided by a person belonging to the Madhesi community as a Madhesi caste from the concerned District Administration Office,
(J) Certified copy provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs or the concerned District Administration Office to the family of the missing person or martyr and the injured or their offspring.
4.2) Candidates studying in institutional or private schools should submit the following self-certified copy documents along with the application:
(A) Certified copy of Nepali citizenship,
(B) a certified copy of the Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Character, having passed the SSE or SLC or similar examination,
(C) Certificate of transcript and character certificate of passing certificate level or ten plus two level or similar examination,
(D) Certified copy of transcript and character certificate for passing postgraduate level or equivalent for applying at postgraduate level and postgraduate level or similar examination for applying at MPhil level.
5) In addition to the above mentioned documents, original letter of recommendation should be submitted as follows:
(A) Candidates applying for local scholarships should disclose the details of being a permanent resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City from the Pokhara Metropolitan Office or the concerned ward office,
(B) Candidates applying for remote area reservation seats from the concerned District Coordinating Committee or the concerned District Administration Office, or from the concerned local body mentioned by the Government of Nepal as inaccessible.
6) Place to receive and submit application form: Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Pokhara University, Pokhara 30, Kaski.

7) Application Fee: Applicants have to pay an application fee of Rs. 1,000. (Axis one thousand only) Kamana Seva Vikas Bank Ltd. In the name of Pokhara University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Ltd. Account no. The application form along with the bank voucher should be submitted by depositing in 01700300211470000001.
If the application form submitted along with the scholarship fee is rejected for any reason, the amount will not be refunded.
Applicants are requested to apply only after clarifying the details of Pokhara University Scholarship Rules and published information.

13) Time of written examination: 1 pm to 4 pm (3 hours).
