Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) announces one full-time PhD fellowship for Nepali citizens starting from August 2018. The fellowships are provided by the project "Innovations in teaching and learning through contextualized approaches to increase the quality, relevance and sustainability of Education in Nepal", which is funded by NORAD and implemented in collaboration amongst Tribhuvan University (Nepal), Kathmandu University (Nepal), and Norwegian University of Life Sciences(Norway). This is a three-year full time study. The elected candidate will receive monthly stipend during the study period.
Eligibility
- Completed atleast 18 years of formal education;
- In case of less than 18 years of schooling, additional courses are required (as prescribed by the School) to complete before the commencement of PhD research
- MPhil degree in Education (with a demonstrated background in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education and/or Health Education related disciplines) with a minimum CGPA of 3.25 out of four-point grading system or 65% in aggregate in previous degree. Candidates willing to apply for PhD must submit a full research proposal of not more than 3,000 words in one or more of the following themes with a design of PAR(Participatory Action Research)methodology together with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education focus to implement in 'intervention' schools:
- Applying Inquiry Based Learning in Health and/or STEAM Education;
- Developing Integrated Curriculum Materials for Health and/or STEAM Education
- Implementing Innovative and Integrated Pedagogical Approaches for Health and/or STEAM Education;
- Promoting Transformative Teaching and Learning Approaches in Health and STEAM Education; and
- Contextuialized education for sustainable development through Health and STEAM Education.

Interview & Presentation of Research Proposal: 11 AM, August17 , 2018
Program Starts: August19, 2018
