NAST Calls for Proposals for Research Support Program for Young Scientists
Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Khumaltar, Lalitpur Notice for Submission of Proposals for Research Support Program for Young Scientists
The Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) is inviting proposals from young scientists and technologists interested in conducting result-oriented research and developing innovative technologies under the Research Support Program for Young Scientists for the current Fiscal Year 2081/082. Eligible individuals (those under 40 years of age at the deadline of this notice) are requested to submit their research proposals to the central office of NAST in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, within 21 days from the date of publication of this notice during office hours.
The maximum budget limit for research grants is as follows:
- For individual/group research: Rs. 5,00,000/- (Five lakh)
- For institutional research: Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten lakh)
- For multi-disciplinary research: Rs. 12,00,000/- (Twelve lakh)
For research conducted by students at the secondary school level (Science Grade 12), the maximum budget limit is Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty thousand). For research conducted by undergraduate students (in Science and Technology subjects), the maximum budget limit is Rs. 1,00,000/- (One lakh). Similarly, for research or promotional programs conducted by scientific societies, technology societies, or organizations, the maximum budget limit is Rs. 1,00,000/- (One lakh).
It is also informed that the remaining installments of research grants provided in the previous Fiscal Year 2080/081 will be disbursed after deducting administrative expenses and the expenditure burden from the budget allocated for the current fiscal year.
For research conducted by students at the school and campus levels, a group proposal and recommendation from the concerned school or campus must be submitted mandatorily.
When submitting research proposals, it is mandatory to include copies of the latest educational qualification certificates, citizenship, and an updated biodata. Other details will be as mentioned in the procedure of this program.
Proposals that are not submitted properly or that are submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
