Notice for Online Application for Student Recommendation for MBBS and BDS Educational Programs Scholarships by the Government of Bangladesh

According to the letter from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Scholarship Branch, dated 2081/09/18 (B.S.), the Government of Bangladesh has provided 19 seats for the MBBS program and 3 seats for the BDS program in Bangladeshi government colleges for the academic year 2024/25. As requested, interested Nepali candidates who meet the following qualifications are invited to submit online applications from 2081/09/23 to 2081/09/27 by 4:00 PM through their profile.

Only candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in clause "B" and Annex 'C' are requested to apply.

A. Group-wise Division of Seats Provided by the Government of Bangladesh

As per Rule 20, Sub-rule (10) of the National Medical Education Regulations, 2077 (with amendments), the seats have been divided into groups as follows:

If candidates from the respective groups are not available, seats will be filled by applicants from the open group based on merit.

B. Minimum Qualifications and Basis for Selection

Candidates must meet the following qualifications and bases for selection:

  1. Listed in the merit list of the latest Integrated Entrance Examination (MECEE-BL 2025) for MBBS and BDS programs.

  2. Have not obtained a foreign study permit.

  3. Have not been nominated for any foreign scholarship.

  4. Have not enrolled in any educational program up to 2081/09/24.

  5. Have not passed O-level or equivalent (SLC/SEE/SSC) examination before 2021.

  6. Have passed A-level or equivalent (Class 12/HSC) examination in 2023/24.

  7. Must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in Annex 'C' attached to this notice and the selection criteria for the Bangladesh Government Scholarship.

C. Online Application Procedure

  1. Candidates listed in the merit list of the Integrated Entrance Examination must browse the Medical Education Commission web portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np, click the Login button, and log in to their profile.

  2. In their profile, candidates must click "View Details" in the Application menu of MECEE BL 2025.

  3. Click the Apply button next to Apply for Bangladesh (MECEE-BL 2025/26) in the Action Column for MBBS and BDS programs, and then click Yes to Submit the application form.

Selection of Candidates and Post-Selection Process

  1. After the online application period ends, candidates will be selected by the computer system based on the type of school and inclusive group filled during the application for the Integrated Entrance Examination, and the merit list of the Medical Education Integrated Entrance Examination and Admission Procedures (First Amendment), 2079. The selected candidates will be recommended to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology on 2081/10/03.

  2. Candidates who have been matched for enrollment under scholarship and fee-paying categories will not be eligible for this scholarship.

  3. Candidates applying for the Bangladesh Government Scholarship must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in Annex 'C' attached to this notice and the selection criteria for the Bangladesh Government Scholarship.

  4. The Medical Education Commission is only responsible for recommendations. After the recommendation, candidates themselves must complete all necessary procedures determined by the ministries and the Government of Bangladesh and fulfill the criteria for the Bangladesh Government Scholarship attached to this notice. Therefore, candidates are requested to study the notice thoroughly and complete all necessary documents and procedures within the specified time frame.

  5. Candidates failing to fill the seats after selection due to incomplete procedures will be subject to action as per prevailing laws.

  6. Applications can also be submitted using the QR code.
