Mahatma Gandhi and Golden Jubilee Scholarship

Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Nepal invites online applications for Mahatma Gandhi and Golden Jubilee Scholarship from Nepali students enrolled in Grade 11 in recognized schools/colleges in Nepal.

Students can submit the application through the official website www.goischolarship.com. The application must have submitted till 13th January 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship:

  • The Applicants must be a regular student of class XI and studying in any recognized school/college of Nepal. The documents must be attested by Principal to be uploaded.
  • Applicants should have secured at least 60% aggregate marks at High School (SLC / SEE)/ Class 10th and scanned copy of mark sheet to be uploaded.
  • Applicants should be a citizen of Nepal and Citizenship certificate of self or parents to be uploaded.
  • Physically challenged candidates should upload proof from CDO/DDO/Municipality Head/Rural Municipality Head.
  • Family income of the candidate must be less than NRs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakh Nepalese Rupees) per annum and income proof should be provided by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head / Rural Municipality Head and to be uploaded.

Note: Those who are receiving scholarships from any other source are not eligible to apply.

Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Amount and Duration:

  • Selected candidates will be awarded a scholarship of NRs.2,000/- per 
  • This scholarship will continue in the second year (Class 12) provided that the awardees in Class-XI (must be passed class XI examination). The student should submit Scanned copy of Class XI passed mark sheet instantaneously after the result is announced latest by the month of December 2019.
  • The scholarship will be discontinued if the awardees fail in class XI or for any other reason that the Embassy may deem necessary.

 

GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2018-19

Eligibility for Golden Jubilee:

  • Applicants should be a regular student enrolled in 1st Year/1st Semester of undergraduate courses in any recognized educational institute in Nepal. Proof of student studying in graduation/degree course attested by Principal/Head of Institution to be uploaded.
  • Applicants should have secured at least 70% aggregate marks at the Intermediate (+2) level/Class 12th and mark sheet to be uploaded.
  • Applicants should be a citizen of Nepal. Citizenship certificate of self or parents to be uploaded.
  • Physically challenged candidate should upload proof from CDO/LDO/Municipality Head.
  • Family income of the applicant must be less than NRs. 2,00,000/- per annum and income proof should be provided by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head and to be uploaded.
  • Age Limit: Applicants should be between 17 to 22 years of age as on 1st July 2019.
  • Note: (i) Those who are receiving a scholarship from any other source are not eligible to apply. (ii) Please do not include Class XI marks. (iii) Diploma courses are not eligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship will continue in the second and subsequent years provided that the awardees continue to study and pass in the first and subsequent years. The mark sheet(s) should be submitted to the Education Wing of the Embassy latest by 2nd week of January every year, failing which the scholarship may be terminated.

Please note:

  • Applicants are advised to interact only with the Education division of the Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal and the Consulate General of India at Birgunj, Nepal.
  • The applicants must be indicating their address and contact telephone/mobile phone numbers/email address clearly while filling online Application Form. Any changes in address/telephone/mobile number should be intimidated immediately through letter bearing candidate's signature.
  • Filing up of wrong data/information such as marks, etc. and in the absence of required documents as mentioned in the 'documents required' column in the online application form will lead to outright rejection and cancellation of the applications/candidates/scholarships and no further claim will be entertained for this scholarship schemes.
  • Before filing up the application form online, students or guardian should take the advice to read instructions or guidelines thoroughly, as there is no scope for modification in the online system once the form is submitted. The candidate should keep the Email address and password in safe custody for the future correspondence/reference.
  • The embassy of India, Kathmandu reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its discretion.
