
Budhanilkantha School and Partnership Program Scholarship Exam Notice 2081
The following notice has been published for the selection of scholarship recipients from meritorious children of disadvantaged communities to study from grade 5 in residential form, free of cost or at a subsidized rate, at Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu, and partner schools under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
1. Selection Criteria:
Students born between 01/01/2071 B.S. and 30/12/2072 B.S. who have regularly studied in community schools in their guardian's district of residence or neighboring district for at least grades 3 and 4, and have completed grade 4 in the academic year 2081 B.S. will be selected through a written competitive examination followed by an interview, based on merit ranking while ensuring representation from geographical regions and targeted communities.
2. Form Submission Date and Time:
2081 Chaitra 26 (Tuesday), from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 2081 Chaitra 27 (Wednesday), from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
3. Application Form
Application forms can be downloaded from bnks.edu.np, cehrd.gov.np, or moest.gov.np, properly filled out, with required recommendations and certifications as specified in the application form, and submitted along with necessary documents at the designated examination center for your district. Written Examination Date and Time: 2081 Chaitra 27 (Wednesday) at 11:00 AM.
4. Curriculum:
Grade 4 subjects: Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies/General Knowledge with 40% objective and 60% subjective questions.
5. Number of open and reserved seats for Budhanilkantha School:
42 (50% for female students).
(a) 40 students will be selected from open and reserved categories with not more than one student from each district.
(b) Reserved seats: Endangered groups - 2, Dalit - 4, Muslim - 1, Madhesi - 4, Indigenous - 5, and Backward regions - 2.
(c) From Budhanilkantha Municipality, where the school is located - 2 students (one male and one female).
A total of 77 students will be selected for partner schools under the Partnership Program, with no district being repeated as far as possible. This includes reservations (Dalit - 5, Muslim - 2, Madhesi - 6, Indigenous - 9, children of martyrs and conflict victims and families of those who died during foreign employment - 1, and at least 26 female students).

Documents to be submitted with the application:
(1) The following documents must be submitted with the prescribed application form:
(a) Application form with required information filled in and certified by the specified individuals (concerned Principal and Education Chief of the local level)
(b) Recommendation letter from the local level disclosing the monthly income of parents/guardians certifying their economic disadvantage
(c) Student's birth certificate provided by the local registrar
(d) Letter from the local level specifying the relationship between the guardian and the student
(e) Copy of the guardian/caretaker's Nepali citizenship certificate details: Guardian refers to grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, brother, or sister.
(e) Details of the previous two academic sessions, including grade, school code, student ID, and updated IEMIS information certified by the respective schools.
(f) For candidates wishing to apply under reserved categories, recommendation letters from the following authorities:
i) For indigenous people, from the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities or the concerned District Administration Office ii) For Dalits, from the National Dalit Commission or the concerned District Administration Office
iii) For the Madhesi community, from the Madhesi Commission or the concerned District Administration Office
iv) For the Muslim community, from the Muslim Commission or the concerned District Administration Office
v) For families of disappeared persons or martyrs and wounded or their children (sons/daughters), from the Ministry of Home Affairs or the concerned District Administration Office
vi) For candidates from backward, remote areas, a letter from the concerned local level stating that they have been permanently residing in the same place until now and that the student has studied grades 3 and 4 in a community school.
(2) The concerned guardian must submit the application form and necessary documents to the examination management team at the designated examination center on the specified day.
Important points to note when filling the application form:
(1) Improperly filled forms will be automatically rejected.
(2) Examinations cannot be taken from centers other than those designated for the district. District means the district where the community school in which the student is studying grade 4 is located.
(3) If one child of a guardian is already studying at Budhanilkantha School, their other child will not be eligible for a scholarship at Budhanilkantha School.
(4) Children of guardians with monthly income of Rs. 50,000/- (fifty thousand) or more, or children of government employees working at the level of Under Secretary or equivalent and above, are not eligible to participate in the scholarship selection examination.
