Government of Nepal, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Secretariat of the Foreign Employment Board notice to Apply for Foreign Employment Scholarship (Academic Session 2078)
To the children of workers who have gone into foreign employment with a labor permit, who have died within the contract period, or who are completely disabled or seriously ill. This notice has been published for the information of all the stakeholders concerned to apply for the Foreign Employment Scholarship in the format as per Schedule (1) of the Foreign Employment Scholarship Operating Procedure, 2071 BS in the educational institution where they are studying by end of Ashoj, 2078 BS.
The place to Submit application:
- In the educational institution where he is studying in the format as per schedule 1.
The basis for applying for a scholarship:
- Must be the son or daughter of a worker who has gone for foreign employment with a work permit and has received 100% financial assistance from the Foreign Employment Board due to death or mutilation or illness.
- Only children under 15 years of age studying in community and institutional schools (pre-primary class or nursery or similar to class 12) can apply.
- Scholarships for the academic session 2078 will be provided only to the children of the workers who receive the above financial assistance till the end of Shrawan 2078 BS.
Documents to be attached with the application (for those who have not yet received the scholarship):
- A copy of the worker's work permit.
- Copy of citizenship of the applicant's guardian.
- Copy of death registration certificate of the worker who died in foreign employment.
- A copy of the passport and passport no.
- Proof of complete disability of the disabled workers who went for foreign employment.
- Copy of student's birth registration.
- Copy of proof of relationship between applicant, guardian, and worker.
- Recommended local level.
For children receiving scholarships:
- Student application request.
- Letter of recommendation from the school where the student is studying.
- Copy of worker's passport.
Scholarship Limit:
- Rs. 8,000 (eight thousand) for the basic level and Rs. 12,000 (twelve thousand) for the secondary level will be provided annually.
- One student will be provided a lump sum foreign employment scholarship only once in a class annually.
School Responsibilities:
- To disseminate information related to foreign employment scholarships to all concerned students and parents.
- After collecting the submitted applications, the documents to be attached with the application should be examined as per the Foreign Employment Scholarship Operation Procedure, 2071 BS.
- Applications deemed appropriate from scrutiny shall be sent to the Education Development and Coordination Unit by 15th of Kartik, 2075 BS with recommendations in the format of Schedule (2) of the said procedure.
- The amount of scholarship received through the concerned Education Development and Coordination Unit should be made available to all the concerned students and the information should be given to the Education Development and Coordination Unit.
Responsibilities of the Education Development and Coordination Unit:
- To inform all the schools within the district to collect the details of receiving scholarships as per the Foreign Employment Scholarship Operating Procedure, 2071 BS, and submit it to the unit.
- The applications received with the recommendation from the concerned school should be examined and the details mentioned in Schedule (3) of the Rules of Procedure should be sent to the Foreign Employment Board by 15th Manshir, 2078.
- Arrangements should be made to provide the scholarship money sent directly from the Board Secretariat through the Education and Human Resource Development Center or through the concerned school to the students selected to receive the scholarship and reimburse it to the Board Secretariat.
