The National Examination Board (NEB) has decided to complete all the work related to the results of Class 10 Secondary Education Examination (SEE) by 30th July 2021 (2078 Shrwan 15). The board is preparing to give the final internal assessment of the student by the school, its records in the district coordination unit, and all the necessary work from NEB and give the result in the hands of the student by July 30.
The board has passed the procedure required for the evaluation of students on Sunday. It is preparing to make it public by Monday. After that, the final internal evaluation of the student will be done by the school on the basis of the same procedure.
The NEB has given a deadline of July 4 (2078 Ashad 4) to complete all the internal assessments of the student. Chairman Poudel informed that the school has to submit all the final records of the students to the District Coordination Unit by July 4 (2078 Ashad 4). After that, the coordination committee will have to verify the records of all the students in the district and send them to the National Examination Board by mid-July.
He said that the final results could be published within 15 days after the records from all the districts arrived on time. Even if the school conducts the final internal assessment of the student, the publication of the student's result, issuance of the certificate, etc. will be done by the National Examination NEB.
This time the NEB has made the internal subject assessment of the students a little different and made the main subject teachers responsible. Accordingly, a five-member committee will be formed in the school to make the final assessment of the students. The final evaluation of the student will be certified by the evaluation committee of five persons including the school principal, senior teacher, English, mathematics, and science teacher committee.
Even though there was a provision to form a committee for the evaluation of students last year, the board has made a procedure for the final evaluation of the results only with the mandatory signatures of five people.
According to NEB, if the final internal assessment of the student is not signed by five people, it will not be recognized and will be sent back to the school. This time, a modality with internal balance has been made to reduce the error seen in last year's internal evaluation. It is said that this will improve the practice of giving marks by the headmaster in the school and will help in the actual evaluation.
The NEB has also made clear provisions on how to give marks on the basis of the first, second, and final examinations of the students. In order to reduce last year's complaints of over-evaluation of students, the board has made a provision to open the reasons for over-evaluation this time. Provision has been made in the examination procedure to return the assessment in case of disagreement.
Expressing confidence that the school and district coordination unit will complete the work on time, NEB said that students' time should not be wasted.
The government has decided to start the new academic session at the school level from June 15 and the board expects all the work including internal assessment of SEE students to be done on time as the teachers will be in touch with the school.
