Yoga Teacher in Each Community Schools of Shankharapur Municipality:
Shankharapur Municipality in the northeastern part of the capital has organized a week-long program on the occasion of National Yoga Day. More than 50 people including municipal employees, area administration office employees, community school teachers, security personnel, and locals participated in the yoga program which started on the main day of National Yoga Day. According to the Municipal Education Branch, the participants want to learn curiosity about yoga.
Dr. Hari Prasad Pokhrel, Dr. Kshitij Barakoti, Tirthavinod Giri, Loknath Khanal of Patanjali Yoga Committee Nepal, Achyut Aryal and Ram Prasad Sanjel, Tilak Bhaiji of Brahmakumari Raj Yoga Service Center, Swami Arhat of Oso Tapovan, and Menuka Dhakal of Jeeva Bigyan Had given training.
At the concluding program of the yoga camp, Subarna Shrestha, chief of the municipality, said that the construction of community buildings in all nine wards has been started as per the objective of conducting regular yoga in all the wards of the municipality. He also informed that the goal is to develop Shankharapur, which has historical significance, as a yoga city.
Municipality Deputy Chief Shukra Laxmi Shrestha said that the municipality would extend full support to the yoga program to be conducted within the municipality to make yoga regular and continuous. Chief Administrative Officer Bhoj Raj Khatiwada informed that the program was conducted to impart yoga training to at least one teacher of all the community schools in the municipality. Bodharaj Niraula, chief of the education branch of the municipality, said that yoga has been introduced at the school level by including yoga in the local curriculum.
