WHO says - Others Countries will Revise Coronavirus Death Tolls Like China

On Friday, China revised the number of dead after international criticism over hiding the death toll from Corona. Subsequently, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said that after controlling the coronavirus infection, many countries can modify their death toll like China. The WHO said on Friday that the infection spread very rapidly in Wuhan and it was difficult for the authorities to register every death and infection case.

Authorities in Wuhan initially tried to cover up this transition. Physicians who were alerted online about this infection were punished and questions have been raised about the government for registering cases of infection as it has repeatedly changed its parameters of calculation.

Maria Van Kerkhove, who is heading the WHO for technical matters related to Kovid-19, said that it is challenging to identify every case and every death while the infection continues. He said at a virtual press conference here that my guess is that a similar situation will arise in many countries when they have to look back and review their records and see if we have identified all the cases.

He said that there was a lot of work pressure on the healthcare system in Wuhan, some patients died at home and others were in temporary centers. The medical staff was focused on treating the patients, so they did not do the paperwork on time.

Michael Ryan, director of emergency affairs at the WHO, said that all countries would face such a situation. But he appealed to the countries to provide accurate figures at the earliest.

China added 1,290 deaths in the city of Wuhan city, the origin of the coronavirus, bringing the number of people killed by the coronavirus to 4,632 in China.

The total confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wuhan increased to 325 by 16 April, after which the number of infected patients increased to 50,333 and the number of dead was increased to 1,290. The death toll from Coronavirus thus increased to 3,869 in Wuhan.
