A monastery called 'Ugyen Pejyung Dubdeling' has been built in historic Tapobhumi meditated by Guru Padmasambhava at Tekanpur, Temal Rural Municipality, Ward No. 8, Tekanpur, Kavre District, for the purpose of promoting religious tourism. The Temal region at an altitude of about two thousand one hundred meters has been established as a very attractive destination for tourists.
Built for the preservation of religious tourism and Buddhist philosophy and culture, the walls of the monastery will be used to study the religious gurus and other characters who have contributed to the promotion of Buddhist philosophy as well as historical subjects related to the Tamang identity.
According to Jagatman Lama Dong, chairman of the Ugyen Pejung Dubdeling Monastery Construction Consumer Committee, a team has arrived in Nepal from Bhutan to make a statue for the monastery. He said that the sculptors will start making sculptures related to Buddhism, philosophy, and culture from Sunday.
Chairman Dong said, “In about six months, the history of Rinjin Dorje, the main deity of Buddhist philosophy, religious figures including Dwigdaj Guru, Tapasvi and the last king of Tamang kingdom will be written. ”
The committee has stated that work is underway in the monastery with the aim of enabling the devotees and religious tourists to come to the area for worship, charity, charity, and study of history.
The estimated cost is around Rs 25 million, but based on the work done so far, it is estimated that all the work will be completed at around Rs 20 million, said, Chairman Dong. With the aim of completing the construction of the monastery within three years, the work has been started one year ago. From the place where the monastery is being built, one can see the world's highest peaks, Everest, Gaurishankar, Langtang, Langthangri Chuchura, Dorjelakpa, and the mountain peaks on the northwest side including Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung, Annapurna and Machhapuchhe.
Chairman Dong said that the construction site of Ugyen Pejung Dubdeling Gumba, which is being constructed in the area inhabited by the Buddhist Tamang caste, is at a distance of five kilometers from Mamti Nepalthok on the BP Highway connecting Kathmandu and Bardibas.
He expressed the belief that the monastery would attract the attention of Buddhists as well as internal and external tourists as it is close to the capital.
The committee has stated that there is a plan to run various skill-based programs to uplift the living standard of the locals by developing the Gumba as an educational center rather than just a place of worship and prayer. The committee also aims to create an environment for the cultivation and utilization of medicinal local herbs by selling local products and promoting the traditional treatment method 'Amchi'.
Also, the names of the personalities who have contributed more than 50 thousand rupees will be placed on the inscription of the monastery. The construction of the monastery has been started with the first donation of locals Kumar Dong and Singhaman Lama. So far, more than one crore rupee has been collected from 400 devotees and donors. The committee has stated that its records have been kept in a systematic and transparent manner as support is being provided for the rest of the work as well.
