U13 Youth Football Academy

Tribhuvan Army Club has brought U-13 Youth Academy into operation from Tuesday. The Youth Academy was inaugurated by Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Karmachhiring Sherpa, and General Secretary of the Nepal Olympic Committee Nilendra Raj Shrestha at a function held at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday.

An agreement was reached in January 2021 between the Army, ANFA, and Sainik Residential College to run the U-13 Youth Academy.

After the AFC made the youth academy mandatory for club licenses, nine other clubs in the 'A' division, including the Army, had signed agreements with various schools to run the youth academy. The army is the only club in Nepal to get an AFC license.

The Army has also become the first club to formally launch the U-13 Youth Academy. The army has added 11 players to the 14 players provided by ANFA and brought the academy into operation from Tuesday.

ANFA had provided 42 players for the Youth Academy, including the Army, 14 players from the APF, and Nepal Police Club. Speaking on the occasion, Senapati Sharma expressed confidence that the operation of the youth academy would be fruitful for the development of Nepali football.

"The Army has been giving high priority to sports since its inception," said Sharma.

ANFA President Sherpa thanked the Army for bringing the youth academy into operation and expressed confidence that the Army Club would take concrete steps in building a women's youth team in the coming days.

"I would like to thank the Army for running the academy," Sherpa said. "We have signed agreements with the Army and eight other clubs to run the youth academy." Other clubs are also making final preparations to bring the academy into operation soon. We are confident that the best players from the academy will be produced. '

Meanwhile, an exhibition match was played between the team captained by national team striker Bharat Khawas and George Prince Karki. Where Bharat's team had won 1-0. Sports materials were also handed over to the young players in the program.
