TU OCE Start Online Application Process for Transcripts and Other Documents

The TribhuvanUniversity, Office of the Controller of Examinations (TU OCE) is set to significantly enhance its services by transitioning most of its operations online, a move that promises to streamline processes and improve student convenience. This transition, starting in the third week of January 2024, marks a major shift in how students interact with TU OCE, eliminating the need for physical visits and long waits.

Launch of the Online System: A Demo on 14 January 2024

TU OCE is gearing up for the launch of this new system with a demonstrative session scheduled for 14 January 2024, attended by university officials. Controller of Examinations Pushparaj Joshi emphasized the benefits of this online system, highlighting its efficiency. Students will be able to submit documents, pay fees, and access services such as transcript requests and certificate corrections from the comfort of their homes.

Convenience and Accessibility at the Forefront

This digital shift not only facilitates easy document submission and fee payment but also extends to critical services like obtaining transcripts and original certificates. This move follows an initial plan, hindered two years ago due to a shortage of skilled IT personnel, but is now back on track.

While most services can be effortlessly moved online, TU OCE is still deliberating on the process for certificate distribution, considering legal requirements of student presence and photo verification. Joshi mentioned that the executive council would make a final decision regarding the photograph's integration on certificates.

Centralized and Regional Office Coordination

Documents requested by students will be dispatched through both central and regional offices, ensuring a seamless distribution process. TU OCE is expanding its reach, with operations already active in various regional offices and a new office set to open in Janakpur targeting Madhesh province. Joshi added that with successful implementation, they aim to deliver certificates directly to students' home addresses, coordinating with postal services for this endeavor.

Strengthening IT Infrastructure

To support this digital transformation, TU OCE has employed six IT staff members and is in the process of recruiting seven more. Acting Vice-Chancellor of TU, Prof. Dr. Shivlal Bhusal, assures that manpower will not be a constraint in transitioning TU OVR's services online.

TU OCE's move towards an online system is a significant step in modernizing educational administration in Nepal. By reducing physical barriers and enhancing accessibility, TU OCE is set to offer a more efficient and user-friendly experience to students. This transition not only reflects the growing trend of digitalization in education but also demonstrates TU OCE's commitment to improving service delivery and student satisfaction.
