Triyuga Model Secondary School Struggles to Keep Up with High Demand for English Medium Education

Triyuga Model Secondary School, located in Gaighat, Udayapur, has been teaching in the English medium for the past 10 years. As the demand for English medium education has increased in the area, the school has been conducting entrance exams for new admissions. In the current academic session, more than 600 students took the entrance exam, with new students still enrolling. The school plans to conduct another entrance exam to accommodate the demand.

The school, which teaches from infant to 12th grade, offers English medium education from 1st to 12th grade, and Nepali medium education from 6th to 12th grade. The school also runs three classes of different abilities. The school has a midday meal system for students from class 1 to class 6.

Apart from having well-equipped physical infrastructure, the school has subject-wise skilled teachers, technology-friendly classrooms, thematic laboratories, and sports facilities, making it the center of attraction for students. According to the school administration, there are currently 3,200 students studying in the school, with 396 new admissions this academic session.

Despite being the best public school in Kosi province and the most renowned educational institution in the district, the school faces some challenges. According to the Chairman of the School Management Committee, Binod Pandey, the lack of classrooms for extracurricular activities is one of the biggest challenges. Pandey also pointed out that the local level has not provided enough support in terms of placement and other necessary resources. However, the school is taking proactive measures to improve and has made a 22-point action plan for school improvement.

Overall, Triyuga Model Secondary School in Udayapur district has become a top choice for English medium education, attracting more students than it can accommodate. Despite facing some challenges, the school's administration is taking proactive measures to improve and provide the best education possible to its students.
