According to the decision, in alignment with the previous letter from the ministry, the first phase will include the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Management, and Faculty of Law. The question papers for undergraduate exams in these faculties will be available in Nepali and English.

As per the Ministry of Education, this rule will be mandatory starting from the first-year examination of the upcoming academic year. It will be gradually implemented in the second, third, and fourth years. The decision was made during the Permanent Committee of the Tribhuvan University Academic Council meeting on Chaitra 15, 2080.

Key Benefits for Students:

  1. Language Flexibility: Students can answer questions in the language they are most comfortable with, whether English or Nepali, reducing language barriers during exams.

  2. Improved Understanding: The availability of question papers in both languages ensures that students better understand the questions, leading to a more accurate reflection of their knowledge and skills.

  3. Enhanced Preparation: With bilingual question papers, students can prepare using study materials in either language, allowing them to access a broader range of study resources.

  4. Inclusive Education: This change supports inclusivity, catering to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and ensuring no student is disadvantaged due to language preference.

  5. Better Opportunities for Higher Education: Bilingual exams help students improve their proficiency in both languages, making it easier to pursue higher education or career opportunities domestically or internationally.

  6. Smoother Transition: Gradual implementation across all undergraduate years allows students to adapt to the new system progressively, ensuring a smooth transition without overwhelming them.

These benefits ensure that the shift to bilingual question papers will positively impact students' academic experiences, providing a fairer, more inclusive, and accessible examination system.
