Tribhuvan University Prepared Four Options to Conduct the Exams:
Tribhuvan University has prepared four options to conduct the exams which could not be held on time due to the threat of COVID-19. Many undergraduate and postgraduate examinations at other universities, including TRI, have been postponed due to the lockdown since March 24. However, as the situation has not improved, no university has been able to say for sure when the exams and studies will start.
The office of the head of education had formed a task force to study the methods to be adopted by Tribhuvan University for conducting the examination. In the recommendation given by the task force, it has been suggested to change the method of examination according to the study.
The task force has given the option to conduct the examination in the old style, connect the students by creating a separate app and conduct the examination from there, conduct the examination by keeping the students present by maintaining social distance and give marks to the students based on the internal evaluation of the campus. However, TU has stated that the internal assessment will be applicable only to the candidates under the annual examination system.
Pushparaj Joshi, Member Secretary of the Task Force and Controller of Examinations of Tribhuvan University said, Therefore, the internal assessment does not apply to them. '
Joshi also said that the students have expressed concern that the corona will be tagged as interest when giving marks after conducting an internal assessment. These four options for the exam were discussed at a meeting of TU officials on Sunday. However, the government has not decided on the alternative as it will continue to work till July 22.
"There are four options for students. But depending on the situation, we will decide which option to go in a few days” said Joshi. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. But despite the situation, TU is preparing to complete the exam even a decade ago. He plans to conduct the exam by presenting the student if the situation is easy and through the app, if the situation is difficult. Pro. Dr. Shivlal Bhushal said that a decision would be taken in a day or two on both the suspended exams and the study.
About half a dozen exams, including undergraduate and postgraduate courses, have been postponed due to the lockdown. TU is ready to give the examinee at least three weeks’ time after the new date of the exam is fixed. An official of Tribhuvan University said that the examination will be conducted from the last week of August (Second Week of Bhadra).
TU has already completed the examination of the Kharipati Center of the Nepal Army, which has a small number of candidates.
