Tribhuvan University, Personnel Administration Division, Kirtipur Urgent notice of Tribhuvan University regarding not being a candidate in political elections

Under Rule 67 of the Tribhuvan University Teacher Staff Service Rules 2050, one should not be a candidate in political elections. (1) Teachers or employees shall not be candidates in political elections with or without membership of any political party. (2) realizing that if a teacher or staff member wants to participate in any political election at the national or local level, he / she must resign from the university service 15 days prior to filing the nomination, unless the Executive Council decides otherwise;

The university's attention has been drawn to the news published in various newspapers and social media that some of the teaching staff working at the university have been contesting for various posts as per the constitution of the political party at the general conventions of various political parties for some time now. 

Therefore, since the officers, teachers and staff working in the university service are national servants according to the prevailing law; Since participating in such elections or in the General Convention or in the Legislative Assembly as a delegate is contrary to the rules of the University and the Political Parties Act; It is advised not to participate in such activities.

Otherwise, if it is proved that he was involved in such act, the departmental action will be taken as per the rules of Tribhuvan University (TU).
