Tribhuvan University Extends Admission Period for Bachelor Programs
Tribhuvan University (TU) has extended the admission period for undergraduate (Bachelor Level programs) students to 2081 Magh 11. Some students have not been admitted after the admission period but are still attending classes, so the admission period has been extended.
A few days ago, Tribhuvan University instructed the Dean's Office and campuses not to admit any undergraduate students after the expired admission period. However, the sudden suspension of Tribhuvan University's undergraduate admissions at a time when youth are increasingly going abroad has come as a surprise.
Various student organizations, the Free Student Union (FSU), and stakeholders who have received complaints from students and campus heads across the country about the suspension of admissions have requested to proceed with the admission process by setting a specific period. After discussing this with all parties, we have determined a time limit of 2081 Magh 11.
According to TU's Rector, Prof. Dr. Khadga KC, the Rector's Office discussed the issue of extending the time, and the time was extended after receiving suggestions to extend the admission period without affecting the academic calendar. 'There will be no changes to the academic calendar. Only the admission time has been extended,’ he said.
TU is preparing to hold the Free Student Union (FSU) elections on Falgun 15, 2081. TU had closed the admissions on the suspicion that students would enroll only for the polls. However, the students demanded that the admissions be closed only after a specific time. That is why TU has extended the admissions for undergraduates.
