Tikapur Multiple Campus Reduces Fees and Provides Scholarships
After Tikapur Multiple Campus became an affiliated campus of Far-Western University, student fees have decreased, and scholarships have become available. Established by the community in 2058 BS, Tikapur Multiple Campus was initially affiliated with Tribhuvan University but is now an official campus of Far-Western University.
Among 139 students studying in the first semester of three postgraduate faculties, 47 students received scholarships—36 from the campus and 11 from the University Grants Commission (UGC). Similarly, of 156 students studying in the first semester of four undergraduate faculties, 100 received scholarships—47 from the campus and 53 from the UGC.
MBA first-semester student Tapendra Ayadi mentioned that he received a 50% tuition fee waiver under the merit category. BBA first-semester student Vaishnavi Rawal stated that out of NPR 23,000 for one semester, she was granted NPR 15,000 in scholarships. BA first-year student Deepak Chaudhary shared that he received a 33% tuition fee waiver.
Since Tikapur Multiple Campus was incorporated into Far-Western University, quality education has become accessible at reduced fees. "Previously, only 4% of students received scholarships. Now, 25% of all enrolled students receive full tuition fee waivers, while some also receive scholarships from the University Grants Commission," said Campus Chief Dhavindra Rawal. He added, "The campus spends NPR 40 million annually on salaries. With four PhD holders, eight MPhil graduates, and 11 ongoing PhD candidates, the quality of education in all faculties is continuously improving."
According to Ishwar Saud, Vice-President of the Tikapur Campus Alumni Society, transitioning to a government institution has reduced fees and increased the number of scholarships. This has provided both relief and encouragement to students. The Faculty of Agricultural Science at Far-Western University enrolls 100 students annually, and the Dean's office is also located in Tikapur.
